A new restaurant claiming to specialise in Taiwanese cuisine opened in Wuhan and I went half skeptically, mainly to try the crispy salty chicken. To my surprise, the dish had an 80% resemblance to the real thing that I used to love in Taiwan, with the correct spices and crispiness and of course, deep-fried basil. Perhaps it was lacking that "street" flavour and aroma that would be found in Taiwan but hey, can't complain as it was already much better than my expectations.
