Below, we're sharing an excerpt from the Food52 cookbook, Dynamite Chicken, to answer one of life's most important questions: At what temperature should my cooked chicken end up, and how do I get it there?


Anybody who tells you that one part of the chicken is better than another part of the chicken is not somebody whose culinary advice you need to take too seriously. But even though it all comes from the same bird, chicken parts have different flavors and functions in recipes, and different cook times and temperatures to reach to get the best out of them. In Strong Defense of Molly Yeh's Popcorn Salad Recipe

Cookbook author, Food Network host, and Food52 resident Molly Yeh has effectively shaken the internet with her recipe for crunchy snap pea popcorn salad. Naturally, we couldn't be happier for her or more excited to test out this tantalizing-sounding concoction ourselves (though whether or not popcorn salad sounds tantalizing is, again, notably subjective).

Popcorn salad isn't a novel concept—it's existed in its traditional mayo-coated, vegetable-studded form across the Midwest for untold decades (though scores of Midwesterners weighed in to say they'd never heard of it until the recipe made its way into headlines). In fact, adding an acidic dressing to a puffed grain is commonplace in plenty of food cultures—think Indian chaat and Ecuadoran or Peruvian ceviche—and adding a liquid element of any kind to a puffed grain frequently results in a texturally pleasing crunchy-soggy hybrid that keeps us going back to the cereal box.

What Is Pork Tenderloin? Is that Different from Pork Loin?

Pork tenderloin and pork loin are not the same thing. The former (also known as pork fillet or pork tender) is long and thin, cut from the muscle running along the spine; the latter (also known as a pork center rib roast or a center-cut pork loin roast) is a heftier slab of meat with a fat cap, cut from back by the ribs (you may know it better sliced, as a pork chop). Perfect for those "I need dinner in an hour" nights, pork tenderloin cooks up tender and quickly when properly prepped.

This Philly Row House Brings Woodsy Vibes to the City

Philadelphia, PA's Society Hill neighborhood is home to a large collection of 18th- and 19th-century row homes, one of which was recently given a refresh by designer Nicole Cole. "Our clients wanted an engaging space inspired by upstate New York—where they love to vacation as a family," she explains. A slew of organic nods to the great outdoors did the trick.

Cole's thoughtful additions begin in the upstairs den, which she folded into the lush garden beyond through a splash of Benjamin Moore's Cypress Green. So as not to distract from the view, she then pulled out one of her signature moves: She painted the white window trim to match the walls.
