I’ll be who you want me to be: TON’s new P.O.V. table | News | Architonic

The amount of change circling around us at the moment is bewildering. Coping with uncertainty has become an international sport; one that families, institutions and business are all engaged in. For the business of design, the answer is versatility. With societal norms unravelling as fast as the ecological balance, creating new products has to come with serious circumspection; What is the environmental impact, how many applications can we give it? Will the design endure? Can one design mould and transform into multiple spaces and uses? Can it multi-task as desk and dining table, make a statement where a statement is needed? Blend in when there's no room for starry behaviour? These questions were at the forefront of the plans for TON's latest table design, P.O.V., made in collaborations with German design duo, kaschkasch. 'P.O.V. is simple and timeless. The design is very restrained but at the same time can also become the central eye-catcher in the room,' says kaschkasch's Sebastian Sch… continue

Horizontal integration: De Padova | News | Architonic

One of the main characteristics of De Padova furniture is its quiet confidence. Sharing a respectful and clean style that doesn't try to overpower a room, the pieces simply fill it with comfort and ease, creating a relaxing seat as well as a relaxing environment. With their extra-long, extra-soft and extra-deep credentials, the Square 16 sofa and the modular Horizontal collection are both perfect examples. With squared-off arm cushions and a physics-defying stretched frame, Square 16's short feet and low seat combine with distinctive seams to give it a definite sixties vibe, especially in worn brown leather. The Horizontal range, meanwhile, created by Japanese brand Time & Style, combines not only the standard corner, recliner, longue and middle sections, but its own footstool, table and drawers share the same measurements as well. This means they can all sit together, as one family portrait of furniture – especially useful in smaller spaces. While both products can be seen as love let… continue

Every year, Italian furniture outfit Boffi|DePadova invites an international brand to collaborate on a guest collection. Who better to understand the unique international history and personality of Boffi|DePadova, than the traditional solid wood craftspeople from Time & Style, a Japanese design company that started in Germany. Inspired by the traditional Japanese living concept of simple but detailed high-quality furniture with enhanced functionality, standout pieces from the Time & Style ēdition collection include the Silent range of solid wood storage cabinets, drawers and wardrobes, as well as the traditional Bombori light. The Silent cabinet is hand-built with solid timber from the forests of Hokkaido, northern Japan. The area's freezing winters slow the growth of trees to create an ultra-dense oak. Strong and silent, the cabinet features a surrounding glass frame that encourages light to flood into all corners and eliminate dark spots, while its double sliding doors provide a cent… continue

Fernando and Maddalena De Padova began importing Scandinavian furniture to Milan in 1956, starting the mid-century wave of Northern European design that would leave a constant mark of timeless interiors across the world. Now part of the tight-knit Boffi|DePadova group of product and interiors brands spread across the higher end of the market, De Padova continues to work with both world-renowned design icons as well as talented up-and-comers from all corners of the globe. These collaborations bring together cultural insights from the designers' own heritage and personal style, with the De Padova brand's own calm and relaxed personality. The latest international collection includes Italian designer Piero Lissoni's Alberese sofa. Featuring large angled armrests and deep seats, Alberese is typical of De Padova style, sitting with a quiet, comfortable confidence, while designer of the Imera bed, Sicilian Elisa Ossino, states of her own creation 'It fulfils not only the desire to sleep, but… continue
