Ryu and Chun-Li join Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Posted: 13 Apr 2021 05:00 PM PDT Way back in 2018 the mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars featured a pretty unique Power Rangers/Street Fighter crossover. It’s common for mobile games to have crossover events, considering how open-ended mobile development usually is. However, these crossovers can get pretty crazy. Whether it’s Evangelion collabing with Honkai Impact 3rd, or WWE Superstars showing up in The King of Fighters All Star, mobile crossovers can be weird. A newly announced crossover between Street Fighter and Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid somehow feels more appropriate, despite its outlandishness. Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, and Akuma from Street Fighter V first showed up as playable characters in Legacy Wars. But Ryu and Chun-Li received something even more special: a power coin. For those not versed in the Power Rangers lore, power coins are what actually allow the teens with attitude to morph into their Ranger alter egos. With the coins, Ryu becomes the Crimson Hawk Ranger and Chun-Li is th...
Ubisoft is shutting down servers for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and others Posted: 13 Apr 2021 02:00 PM PDT As time goes on, some games are lost or simply forgotten. Sure, not by everyone, I mean you’ll still find Battlefield 3 servers packed full of dedicated players. But other games, regardless of how many are still playing them, just end up being left behind. That’s the case for a long list of games published or developed by Ubisoft, which is shutting down a ton of servers very soon. A master list of games that have had their servers taken offline by Ubisoft was recently updated with a sizable list of recognizable names. You can expect servers for the following games to go offline by June 1, 2021: Assassin’s Creed 2, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Far Cry 2, Anno 1404, Might & Magic – Clash of Heroes, Splinter Cell Conviction, The Settlers 7, and Might & Magic X – Legacy. However, another group of games in the Tom Clancy franchise is also going offline soon. The only difference is that we don’t know exactly when. Ghost Recon Future...
Gord is a dark fantasy, city-builder coming from former CD Projekt Red producer Posted: 13 Apr 2021 01:30 PM PDT Gord, coming from the new Polish developer Covenant, is an eclectic blend of genres. It mixes city building, survival, strategy, and action-adventure elements with procedurally generated gameplay. Naturally, such a mash up of genres and subgenres isn’t new. However, what will immediately catch your eye isn’t the gameplay of Gord, but its theme. The game is a dark fantasy inspired by Slavik folklore, with an emphasis on dark. Led by prior CD Projekt Red producer Stan Just, Gord will be out on PC via Steam in 2022. Gord uses color brilliantly. Close up, buildings in your settlement, as well as nearby environmental features and monsters, glow with a muted palette. Just beyond your limited field of vision, however, the world around you fades to black and white. It presents a striking dichotomy. Of course, color or not, your people will have to contend with Gord‘s awful-looking monsters. I hope you’re not afraid of spiders. Frankly, I’m less of a fan of that...
Those mysterious new Modern Warfare maps will be back and even better Posted: 13 Apr 2021 01:15 PM PDT If you’re a fan of the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot and still play often, you’re likely familiar with the new maps that shuffled in and out of the game recently. Infinity Ward didn’t exactly make a scene of the last update, as zero information was officially shared about the three new maps before they appeared in-game. Killhouse, Al-Raab Airbase, and Drainage were added, though the availability for the latter two was limited to custom matches. While players were caught off guard, the surprise was certainly a welcome one. While Killhouse still features as a 24/7 playlist option, Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage were pulled in the same fashion in which they arrived. If the developer’s goal was to confuse people, consider it mission accomplished. Players have undoubtedly been frustrated by Infinity Ward’s strange behavior, as a simple update on what’s going on with the new content would have been appreciated. Fortunately, Infinity Ward...
A Steam patch for Nier: Automata is coming after four years of silence Posted: 13 Apr 2021 12:15 PM PDT PlatinumGames has finally listened to Nier: Automata players’ pleas for a Steam update. The action RPG released on the digital storefront four years ago, where it has since been notorious for performance problems. Despite user complaints, the developer never issued an update for the Steam version of Nier: Automata — until now, apparently. The official Nier Twitter account announced today that a patch is on its way. The tweet was incredibly vague, noting only that an “upgrade patch” is “currently in development.” The Nier team promised that more information on the patch would come “at a later date.” So, it’s not exactly set in stone that the studio will fix every problem currently plaguing Nier: Automata on Steam. However, we’d hope that the long-awaited update will address the game’s many annoying bugs and its poor resolution. PlatinumGames and Square Enix have basically swept the shoddy Nier: Automata Steam re...
