Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Iberia is a Steam top seller

Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Iberia is a Steam top seller

Players of Euro Truck Simulator 2 were just waiting to visit Iberia. the truck game's new DLC pack has landed in this week's Steam top sellers list, and it has some strong company.

Iberia is the first new region since developer SCS Software spruced up Euro Truck Simulator 2's lighting in update 1.40. Exploring the Iberian Peninsula should give drivers plenty to gawk at as we wait for more on the Heart of Russia DLC that's next. Elsewhere on the Steam top sellers chart, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 4 have re-entered, at sixth, fourth, and third, respectively.

Forza Horizon 4 featured twice the week it debuted, and looks like players are still coming around to the racing game's Steam version. Valheim drops again, from fourth to seventh, after an eight week stretch at first, and The Binding of Isaac: Repentance hangs on at tenth, falling from third. Horizon Zero Dawn moves up one, from sixth to fifth, and It Takes Two is still in second, players taking full advantage of the friends pass for co-op game fun.

PUBG Studio might be making an open-world, sci-fi schooter

PUBG Studio might be making an open-world, sci-fi schooter

We know the PUBG universe is set to expand dramatically, what with PUBG New State, The Callisto Protocol, and the prospective PUBG 2. Another upcoming game has been added to that list, an open-world, sci-fi shooter, and we have some details thanks to job listings.

The information is courtesy of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds leaker PlayerIGN, who went through 14 recent openings posted by PUBG Studio that were labelled for something new currently called Vertical. After translating from Korean, and cross-referencing certain keywords and phrases, he found that Vertical is planned to be an "open-world, action and shooting game" with puzzles.

It'll be heavy on the sci-fi, featuring cyborgs, mechas, vehicles, monsters, and tribes, and it's being built in Unreal Engine 4. This all lines up with New State's use of drones and other futuristic tech, and The Callisto Protocol being a horror game set on a prison in one of the moons of Jupiter. PlayerIGN used these same methods to predict New State months before it was confirmed, when it was project XTRM and speculates that if this is PUBG 2, it would mean the sequel's shedding the series' battle royale game roots. But that's just a possibility to chew on for the time-being.

LoL’s Kog’Maw is getting a visual upgrade

LoL’s Kog’Maw is getting a visual upgrade

A visual overhaul is coming for Kog'Maw soon, and a League of Legends dev has previewed some of the changes. The hope is to make the LoL champion's moves easier to keep track of while you're playing.

Oliver McDonald, lead VFX artist on skins for League of Legends, posted some clips of what's coming for Kog'Maw on Twitter. The first is the ferocious little monster going through all its moves, the second is a look at his skins post-update, and the third is a new E effect. "Updated Model Texture, updated Armor/MR shred icon," Oliver says in the first tweet. "Project goals: Improving gameplay clarity on missile widths, R edge indicator and W/P empowered state."

None of the colours were changed in this process, as skins in League of Legends aren't generally given unique VFX unless they're 1350 or above. What's here does look and feel richer, many of the skins emanate a deeper, more vibrant glow, especially the greens and pinks. One skin, Lion Dance Kog'Maw, is at 1350, and the new E Effect is a slimy multi-coloured projectile. Lovely.

Watch Dogs Legion mod that lets you customise the world (or clip out of it) launches next week

Watch Dogs Legion mod that lets you customise the world (or clip out of it) launches next week

A Watch Dogs Legion mod that lets you manipulate the open-world game at your leisure is out in a few days, and a new trailer demonstrates all the features.

Watch Dogs Legion ScriptHook is basically a cheat menu for doing whatever you want to the crime game's London city. You can spawn vehicles and objects, change the weather, control traffic, teleport, make custom license places, or just clip out of the framework of the world altogether. Think of it like those lists of cheats we'd get for Grand Theft Auto games back in the day, except instead of inputting codes every time, everything is just always there, as part of the game.

The tool was developed by NOMAD Group, with Ubisoft's blessing. The team made something similar for Watch Dogs 2, and last year's Mafia: Definitive Edition. "Legion ScriptHook comes with a feature-rich Trainer which allows you to experience London in entirely new ways," reads a description of the official forums. "The included scripting engine allows you to create and run fully custom scripts which can interact with the UI, the map and objects within it, allowing DedSec members to create their fully custom, never-before-seen in-game experiences."

WWE 2K22 revealed during WrestleMania, coming soon

WWE 2K22 revealed during WrestleMania, coming soon

WWE and 2K are making another wrestling game. WWE 2K22 was officially revealed during this year's WrestleMania, and it's coming soon.

A short trailer was shown during the pay-per-view, featuring legendary cruiserweight Rey Mysterio. Footage jumps from him in real life, putting on his mask, and him in the game, doing a 619 on Cesaro, and then building some hype from the turnbuckle. This is all "captured from a work-in-progress build", and it looks as good as the snippets in these trailers always do.

No release date, but since 2014, 2K's main series of WWE games have all launched in October, so that'd be a safe bet. The reception to the teaser seems positive, going by the reaction on YouTube. The latter half the 2010s were bad run for WWE 2K games, and the last couple, 2019's WWE 2K20, and 2020's WWE 2K Battlegrounds, were heavily criticised in particular. WWE 2K20 was slated for being a broken, glitch-ridden mess, to the point a Twitter campaign was started asking 2K to fix it. 2K acknowledged the problems, and it's believed the poor reception was a heavy contributor to the cancellation of WWE 2K21.
