| Minecraft player builds playable Uno Posted: 01 May 2021 09:56 AM PDT Have you every played Uno? It's all about losing your hand the quickest, and it tends to bring out the shark in anyone who plays. Someone's made a fully functioning version in Minecraft, and the multiplayer game is no less ruthless. Uno has its own, specific kind of 108 card deck, and rounds can involve up to four players. Reddit user pr0mers built an entire Uno structure to facilitate them and three others sitting around a small table, screwing each other over through making them draw more cards, changing the colour, or skipping their turn. Under the table is a minecart that takes the cards, and leads them back to into the mechanism that distributes them back out. Cards are drawn from the deck through a chest that, when activated, is given a seemingly-random card from the deck, each player does this until they've a full hand. The cards have all been designed using different kinds of redstone, and shulkers that match up to the values of said redstone then hand them out. It's an elaborate system, but it works, as you can see in the video below. RELATED LINKS: Minecraft console commands, Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods |
| Destiny 2’s infinite super glitch has returned Posted: 01 May 2021 08:48 AM PDT It looks like that Destiny 2 infinite super glitch has resurfaced, leading to concerns this week's Trials of Osiris may be called off. As yet, the bug only works in one specific instance in the space game. Essentially, if you're playing as Warlock, you can spam their Winter's Wrath Stasis maneuver ad infinitum. You'll need some precise timing, but upon activating the super as normal, using Bleak Watcher, and right when it would normally end, use a grenade, then hold heavy attack, while pressing light attack. If you do it right, you'll be stuck in a loop, using the moves over and over. The exploit can be used in any mode, anywhere, and although the Trials are the obvious concern, you're likely to see plenty of people using this to clock any outstanding challenges they've been procrastinating on. Versions of this have emerged over the years, and something similar was discovered last November. YouTuber Cheese Forever did a video on the glitch below, and content creators such as Nestor 'nKuch' Kuch, and Benny Shmurda, have speculated it's likely this weekend's Trials of Orisis will be called off in response. Bungie has yet to publicly comment. RELATED LINKS: Destiny 2: Beyond Light review, Destiny 2 exotics, Play Destiny 2 |
| This month on Wargamer: Warhammer’s toad wizard returns, Undaunted gets a sequel, and more Posted: 01 May 2021 10:49 AM PDT Hi folks, Alex here - I'm editor of PCGamesN's recently relaunched sister site Wargamer, covering wargames of all flavours, and the whole wonderful world of tabletop gaming. What do you mean, you haven't heard of Wargamer? Preposterous. OK, a brief refresher: we've been around for ages - since 1995 in fact - covering hardcore digital and tabletop wargames, but we relaunched the website in January, with a snazzy new look and a big new mission: to become the world's biggest and best tabletop games website. And we've got off to a cracking start - so if you love Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, D&D, board games, or pretty much any game played on a horizontal surface, then bookmark us immediately (that's an order). Now, our fine compadres at PCGamesN have invited me to share some of our stories on the biggest tabletop goings-on from the past month, and, gee whillikers, it's been a busy one. Here's a little whistle-stop tour through the biggest news from April, across the diverse lands of miniatures games, tabletop roleplaying games, board and card games, and PC strategy gaming. |
| Saints Row: The Third Remastered is coming to Steam this month Posted: 01 May 2021 07:44 AM PDT Remember Saints Row: The Third Remastered? You know, the remaster of the madcap open-world game that release around this time last year on the Epic Games Store. It's coming to Steam in a few weeks. Someone tweeted at the official account wondering if the crime game would ever arrive on Valve's platform. The account replied with a simple release date of May 22, meaning exactly one year after it came out on Epic. This is par the course for the Epic Games Store and Steam, as Epic's strategy has been to pay lump sums to have timed or complete exclusivity on any new game, or upcoming game's time on PC. If you haven't played Saints Row: The Third, or just not since 2013, this remaster is a pretty ideal package. You get all the DLC, plus the usual visuals upgrades, and optimisation for newer hardware. Between the base game, and extras that were put out post-release, there's a lot of wild action-adventure game to sink into. This thing sits at the intersection of Burt Reynolds, pro wrestling, and a fictitious movie called Gangstas In Space. RELATED LINKS: Saints Row: The Third Requirements |
| Ten exciting indie PC games you can’t miss in May Posted: 01 May 2021 06:00 AM PDT It's May! You know what that means? That's right, this is the month where we have to do our best to ignore the vampiric, ten foot-tall elephant in the room - not to mention her many, many admirers - and think about other videogames. Of course we're very excited about the upcoming Resident Evil Village release date, but May's got a ton of treats in store for PC gamers who don't want to be stepped on, choked by, or otherwise maimed at the hands of Lady Dimitrescu. Every month we trawl through our inboxes, dig through Steam's messy 'Popular Upcoming' list, and preview a bunch of hidden gems in order to bring you a list of the month's best indie games. April's selection still looms large in the rear-view mirror, so you can check that out here in case you need to add any more game's to your Steam backlog. This month we've got skateboarding endless runners, winemaking simulation games, motorway management games, point-and-click adventure games, god-slaying action-RPGs, and more. So join us as we pick through our top indie prospects of the month. RELATED LINKS: Best RPG games on PC, Upcoming PC games |
| Outriders patch fixes lots of bugs and crashes, item restoration is “on the cusp” Posted: 01 May 2021 05:37 AM PDT A big Outriders patch has been rolled out, fixing a range of issues and bugs in the multiplayer game. However, the promised item restoration is still not included, though developer People Can Fly says it's on the cusp of happening. The full patch notes were posted on Reddit, and it's a hefty list. The bullet-points are that a number of crashes have been sorted, including one that caused a freeze at the sing in screen, some weapons are rebalanced, new keys are added for rebinding purposes, and your old crash dumps should now be deleting themselves as normal. There had been reports of players accumulating massive data piles, to the point their Outriders folder was hogging lots more space than needed. Snipers from AI enemies have been chnged to give you greater chance to dodge, and you won't be getting knocked back quite as hard during the Stargrave Expedition. Fn, Delete, End, PageDown, Insert Home, PageUp, Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and CapsLock can be now used as part of your control setup, and you can now more FOV to 130, instead of just 90. | EU4 cheats – a quick guide to console commands Posted: 30 Apr 2021 04:04 AM PDT So, you're looking for some EU4 cheats, are you? Perhaps you've also seen our Victoria 2 cheats guide, or maybe our primer to Hearts of Iron 4 cheats? Paradox grand strategy games are big, complex, and they can last a long time. Things can also go very wrong - so wrong that not evening save-scumming can help you - so you may find yourself in a need of a helping hand. Like most games, Europa Universalis IV has an in-game console that allows you to input commands to achieve various effects. EU4 especially is a mature and quite intricate strategy game, with a myriad of goals you might need help accomplishing that may require targeting at province, or even country level. We've put together a guide to cheats and console commands in EU4. Unlike similar articles we've done for other grand strategy games, we're not going to print the full list of commands available. A full list is available here if you want to look at it. We're also going to give a shout out to Strand, whose excellent Steam guide provided a basis for our own text below. | New Dragon Age 4 concept art hints at Grey Wardens return Posted: 01 May 2021 05:00 AM PDT Dragon Age! A fresh piece of Dragon Age 4 concept art has been shared by one of the lead developers, suggesting the return of a recurring group of warriors from throughout the RPG game series. Dragon Age 4 executive producer Christian Dailey revealed the art on Twitter, tagging creative director Matthew Goldman, and asking "Is this the right amount of pointy and gray?" Goldman responded by saying it's "All the good stuff." The image shows a Grey Warden, in full grey and gold regalia, standing in front of the Order's insignia embossed over some mountains, and a Dragon Age logo up top. The Wardens played a central role in Dragon Age: Origins, as the Order you join at the start of the game. Then, they move into a background feature of Dragon Age 2, before making a proper appearance in Dragon Age: Inquisition, where you battle them during a questline. At the end of the siege of Adamant Fortress, you can either turn the scattered and beaten protectors of Thedas into allies, or send them back to Weisshaupt. Going by this art, maybe we'll see the Wardens front and center again in the forthcoming Dragon Age sequel. |
| Resident Evil Village is a puppet show now Posted: 01 May 2021 03:46 AM PDT In 2011, The Muppets asked "Are you a man, or a muppet?", to which Resident Evil Village is answering, "Yes." Capcom has released a prequel puppet show for the horror game, further introducing some of the antagonists, and it's pretty incredible. Four characters are involved: Alcina Dimitrescu, Karl Heisenberg, Salvatore Moreau, and Angie, the puppet representative of Donna Beneviento. They're each part of the four families that serve under Mother Miranda and run the titular village. Heisenberg manages a local factory, Dimitrescu a winery out of her massive castle, while Beneviento controls the valley, and not much is known about Moreau. In the short, Dimitrescu enlists the others for a spot of painting. Unfortunately, Moreau's a bit clumsy, and knocks over one of the buckets, then stumbles right into Heisenberg's chainsaw. Happens to the best of us! Poor old Moreau then starts bleeding out profusely, while the rest transition to a sing-song led by Dimitrescu. She decides to unleash her inner Bob Ross by doing a nice portrait, but gets distracted drinking the paint, and her piece becomes a little more violent. Don't drink paint, kids. In the end, Heisenberg takes an axe to the head, a fair conclusion if ever there was one. |

The proper Early Access launch has been confirmed for this weekend, so you don't have to wait much longer if you missed out on those early Scavengers key. | Rainbow Six Siege devs issue mysterious teasers as Apocalypse event leaks Posted: 30 Apr 2021 03:15 PM PDT Rainbow Six Siege is always a leaky ship, and that gets especially weird as the developers like to tease new content well ahead of release. Now, Ubisoft is hinting at something major to hit the game next week, right as another leak on an upcoming event hits the internet. It looks like we're going to have some stuff to look forward to ahead of Y6S2, at the very least. A new tweet from the official Siege account on Twitter contains the message: "We scoured the Earth, looking for salvation." An attached image shows the date May 4, 2021, on top of a green backdrop. The date and green aura have also taken over the account's banner and profile pic. Earlier today, a bit of leaked footage hit Reddit, and appears to show an updated version of the Outback map that's set in the shadow of what looks like a nuclear power plant. This matches up with previous leaks of an event called Apocalypse, which would have attackers and defenders fighting over a container, and include rooms with built-in alarm systems.
