Magic: Legends to shut down in October, refunds to be issued Posted: 29 Jun 2021 03:00 PM PDT It was very recent that Magic: Legends became available to players. The action RPG’s Beta started in March of this year with Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment handling its development. You may know them for the enduring Neverwinter massively multiplayer online RPG. Despite that seeming like a recipe for success, Magic: Legends is shutting down on October 31, 2021. As such, the game will remain playable for the next four months. Additionally, customers will receive complete refunds for any and all purchases made in the game, which should do a fair bit to mitigate fan ire. On the game’s official site, Executive Producer Steve Ricossa, who also EPd Star Trek Online, shared this in a blog post: “Magic: Legends will be shutting down on October 31, 2021. All players who spent money in-game across Arc and the Epic Games Store during the Open Beta will receive a refunded that covers their full purchase amounts. Servers will remain open for play until closing ...
Battlenet Summer Sale 2021 kicks off with discounts on big titles Posted: 29 Jun 2021 02:30 PM PDT Steam’s summer sales are usually a highlight for PC gamers looking to grab all sorts of games for cheap. However, some publishers keep their games on separate platforms indefinitely. As such, Activision and Blizzard’s Battlenet is having a summer sale of its own that offers many an incentive to actually spend some money on a PC storefront not owned by Valve. The Battlenet Summer Sale 2021 will last through July 11 and offer discounts of up to 67%. Granted, it’s Battlenet, so most of this stuff is still pretty pricey, but it still beats MSRP. That’s a low bar, I know. The top featured deals include Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for 40% off at $35.99 USD. This purchase includes the Captain Price operator on top of the base experience. Then the World of Warcraft Radiant Bundle is 68% off for $23.99, coming with two pets and two mounts. If you own any of the items already included in the bundle, its price will be adjusted. All three Celebration Collection pack...

Remedy reveals Project Condor, a multiplayer spin-off in the Control universe Posted: 29 Jun 2021 01:00 PM PDT Remedy Entertainment and publisher 505 Games have announced they’re partnering up for another installment of the Control franchise. But, no, it’s certainly not Control 2. That still might happen, but we don’t know for sure yet. The companies instead have revealed a new game under the working title Project Condor, which is set to be a multiplayer spin-off of Control. Obviously, a multiplayer spin-off to the popular single-player game is unexpected. However, Michael Kasurinen, the game director of the franchise, broke it down in a letter to the community. Control isn’t so much of a game or franchise to Kasurinen, but “a world, a place for multitudes of stories, events, and characters.” Project Condor will be one of those stories, and Remedy wants you to bring your friends along. A multiplayer spin-off in the Control universe sounds like it could work. After all, those familiar with the Oldest House know its labyrinthine halls and rooms filled...
