Halo Infinite may be getting a battle royale mode

Halo Infinite may be getting a battle royale mode

The first-ever Halo Infinite beta is currently wrapping up, and Halo players on PC and Xbox are enjoying the fun multiplayer offering in this weekend's technical preview. However, a datamine of the beta by determined fans has uncovered a voice file that strongly suggests that a Halo Infinite battle royale mode may be coming.

The beta datamine has already revealed some major details fans weren't previously aware of, including the existence of multiple single-player/co-op campaigns - which at least had been hinted at by the dev team - and a terrifyingly large amount of story spoilers, including plot moments, mission details, and at least one twist.

This new leak is probably the simplest, and yet the most far-reaching in its implications. Originally posted on ResetEra, it's a simple voice file recording. The voice is that of Halo Infinite's multiplayer announcer, where they say the game mode at a match start. It's only two words, but these two words are enough to put the frighteners into any Halo fan - "battle royale".

F.E.A.R.-inspired FPS Selaco adds its iconic Nailgun and a killer banana

F.E.A.R.-inspired FPS Selaco adds its iconic Nailgun and a killer banana

There are loads of great indie FPSs out there or on their way - from classics like Dusk to more recent releases like Vomitoreum - but Selaco is looking truly special. It's somehow running on the Doom engine and is heavily influenced by Monolith's classic F.E.A.R. - and it's just added that game's iconic nailgun. Oh, and a banana.

Selaco is an indie FPS that's slowly been building attention from the community, and combines classical gameplay from titles like Doom and Quake along with its main inspiration, 2005's F.E.A.R. - specifically in terms of action set-pieces, bullets that react properly to the world, setting, and awesome enemy A.I. No word yet on whether a terrifying long-haired ghost girl will feature, though.

The game is being built on the GZDoom engine, which you wouldn't be able to tell if you weren't aware just how creative fans can be with it. It looks shockingly good, in fact, which is well showcased in its latest videos.

Keep Jurassic World Evolution 2’s scientists happy or suffer “dire consequences”

Keep Jurassic World Evolution 2’s scientists happy or suffer “dire consequences”

While it still doesn't have a release date, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is still planned to be out for PC later this year, and the eagerly-awaited dinosaur management follow-up has a fair number of new features already planned. A big new addition is the inclusion of a scientist team to individually manage - and if you don't, expect them to go all Dennis Nedry on your park.

Scientists are the new park management support team being introduced in Jurassic World Evolution 2, which were briefly revealed in the game's first development diary last month - except you were probably distracted by the news that those clever girls the Velociraptors are now able to hunt in packs.

Now developer Frontier has released a new video guide specifically dedicated to Jurassic World Evolution 2's scientists, giving a lot of detail on how they can help or hinder the player's park. While they can help improve various park functions - such as cheaper dinosaur incubation or faster fossil excavation - they can also get stressed, which can lead to "dire consequences".

Apex Legends Season 10 Battle Pass rewards leaked by EA ahead of reveal

Apex Legends Season 10 is likely launching later this week - Tuesday, August 3 to be precise - and fans will almost certainly get to see the full contents of the Battle Pass tomorrow. However, EA has leaked a number of details and info on the Apex Legends Season 10 Battle Pass rewards early - including a new Bloodhound skin.

Developer Respawn has been teasing the start of Apex Legends' tenth season all throughout July - which we know will bring with it the new Legend known as Seer into the game, alongside a ranked version of the popular new Arenas mode which was added in Season 9.

So far details on the new season's Battle Pass have remained a mystery, but now it seems the main Apex Legends website has been updated too early - leaking details about the Season 10 rewards (as spotted by Apex Legends News on Twitter), which includes both free and premium rewards and item sets.

Sims 4 streamer recreates Stardew Valley thanks to Cottage Living

Sims 4 streamer recreates Stardew Valley thanks to Cottage Living

Popular The Sims and Stardew Valley streamer DrGluon is combining his two favourite games. He's recreating Stardew Valley in The Sims 4 thanks to the recently released Cottage Living expansion, thanks to the DLC being the closest The Sims has got to the popular farm life game so far.

DrGluon has attempted to play The Sims 4 like Stardew Valley multiple times in the past, but July's release of The Sims 4: Cottage Living expansion has allowed the streamer to truly make his 'Simdew Valley' a reality. DrGluon has been streaming his attempts on his Twitch channel and posting the results to YouTube.

His recent goals so far have been creating a little village community, grow some crops with his own in-game avatar Sim, run errands for the other villagers, and get items for their community centre. His main goal has been to get some animals for his farm, specifically some cows, chickens, and llamas. "We are going to be living our life to the fullest!" the YouTube description states.

Halo Infinite’s release month may have been leaked by Xbox and Krispy Kreme

Halo Infinite’s release month may have been leaked by Xbox and Krispy Kreme

As far as fans are aware, the Halo Infinite release date is still down for holiday 2021 - which Microsoft reconfirmed at E3 2021 in June - but otherwise, we still don't have a firm date. That may have changed this week, as a partnership between Xbox and Krispy Kreme may have inadvertently leaked the Halo Infinite release month.

The first Halo Infinite beta is still currently running as of the time of writing, with all manner of story spoilers and the possibility of multiple campaigns being leaked thanks to that technical preview - but this particular leak comes via the unusual combination of Halo, Krispy Kreme, and Xbox.

Leading up to the release of Halo Infinite, Krispy Kreme has announced that it will be selling a special Halo doughnut as of July 30 - which is basically a normal chocolate-covered doughnut with Master Chief's face on it. The interesting part, however, is that the official Xbox Mexico account sent a tweet out about the new doughnut with the words "why wait for November if we can start the festivities now?"
