Kirby and the Forgotten Land Worlds – How Many and How Long Are They

Posted: 31 Mar 2022 04:44 AM PDT

I loved my time with Elden Ring. I’m working my way through Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands now. That said, my current obsession is certainly Kirby and the Forgotten Land. We’ve put together guides for you on a few parts of the game like redeeming present codes or using blueprints. Over the course of my time playing the game, however, I’ve been most impressed with the worlds in the game. Every new area you unlock as you progress through Forgotten Land is really well designed. With distinct themes and environmental aspects, I think that on top of the open-level element that the world design is what makes this game so special. That said, let’s run through an overview of the Kirby and the Forgotten Land worlds, how many there are, and how long the game is.

How Many Kirby and the Forgotten Land Worlds Are There?

Overall, there are seven Kirby and the Forgotten Land worlds. When you begin Kirby and the Forgotten Land, you’re sort of transported to a wilderness that’s clearly not as it should be. Despite lush trees and nature attempting to do its thing, this is not a world we recognize. This is Nature Plains, the first world you’ll explore in the game. From there, you travel to Everbay Coast, Wondaria Remains, Winter Horns, Originull wasteland, Redgar Forbidden Lands, and Lab Discovera. As you can tell from the names, each has a distinct overarching theme to it.

For the most part, each world is a combination of four stages. The later worlds add a few more surprises, including a pretty impressive finale at the end. That’s no spoiler, however, and about as much as I’m willing to say about the end-game. Partially because I don’t want to spoil things and partially because I haven’t completed the game quite yet. I’m on World Seven, Lab Discovera, but I don’t want it to end quite yet.  Despite having it for nearly a week, I’ve fallen victim to the life of a completionist. Let me explain.

Each of the Kirby and the Forgotten Land worlds is meant to be ways that you can rescue Waddle Dees. Despite this valiant quest, I’m caught up trying to 100% on each level. On top of rescuing a small group of Waddle Dees for completing a level, each one features mini-goals that include finding secret items, including those blueprints I talked about above. You don’t need to do all of these extra elements to finish the game, but it does add to how long it takes to beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

How Long is Kirby and the Forgotten Land?

kirby and the forgotten land worlds how many long

How long it takes to beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land depends on how completely you want to tackle every mini-goal. Overall, the game takes about 15 hours to finish, but that number can easily double as you try to complete every objective. With four levels and other Treasure Road challenges, each world can be a bit of a timely experience. My thought with these sorts of Nintendo platformers is that rushing through them isn’t the right approach.

Instead, I’m replaying favorite levels and trying to complete everything I can. I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit running around Wondaria Remains because I love the theme park element. It’s not a surprise that I love this game – I’m a big Kirby fan. That said, I’m really impressed with how dynamic each of the worlds in Kirby and the Forgotten Land is and I can’t wait to keep returning to this one for years to come.

As we finish the final world of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, we’ll be sure to update you on other fun things we discover! The game is available now for Nintendo Switch! Thanks for reading Comic Years for all things gaming, comics, and pop culture.

Thanks to Nintendo for the review code for this title.

Joel Edgerton in Dark Matter: Adaptation Coming to Apple TV+

Posted: 31 Mar 2022 03:39 AM PDT

Author Blake Crouch is no stranger to adaptation. With Chad Hodge, he adapted his novella trilogy Good Behavior, for instance, for the TNT series of the same name. Hodge also adapted Crouch’s Wayward Pines trilogy for the Fox show of the same name. And since he likes things in threes, here comes a third show. Joel Edgerton is starring in Dark Matter, another Blake Crouch novel adaptation.

Dark Matter By Blake Crouch a Standalone Sci-Fi

Good Behavior is kind of a departure from Crouch’s usual work. It’s more of a crime-type story, which follows a con artist as she becomes involved with a hitman. Most of the time, though, Crouch’s work tends toward the science-fictional. Wayward Pines is a good example of that.

Wayward Pines promo art, image via Fox

It’s about a Secret Service Agent who finds himself in the title town after a serious car accident. He’s fine, but there’s a pretty big problem. He can’t seem to leave the town. What follows, at least in the first book Pines, is one of the most devastating plot twists I’ve read since Stephen King’s Revival.

Dark Matter, on the other hand, is a mite bit more upbeat. Just a bit. Some sources might describe it as an exercise in the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics. Other (official) people might say it’s about the road not taken. I, a platinum-certified Hot Dummy™, say, “It’s like, Sliding Doors?” (I have not actually seen Sliding Doors.)

Basically, though, in a non-spoilery nutshell, it is all of that. Jason Dessen, a college physics professor, is living a happy life in Chicago with his wife Daniela and their son Charlie. That is, until someone kidnaps him. He emerges from a drug-induced haze to find himself in an alternate reality.

Then, according to the official plot description, “Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the multiverse of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of mind-bending realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.”

Adaptation of Dark Matter Will Star Joel Edgerton

Crouch is adapting and will serve as showrunner for the new show. Dark Matter will star Joel Edgerton as Dessen. He, of course, is also appearing in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show on Disney+. And if you missed it, one of his movies made the list of my Top 10 Killer Kids. His most recent work has incidentally been in other adaptations, specifically the miniseries Underground Railroad and the film The Green Knight.

Apple TV+ has already ordered a full season of the show. It will comprise 9 episodes. Crouch’s adaptation duties will see him writing the series. Louis Leterrier will direct the first 4 episodes. He’s directed such films as the Transporter series, Now You See Me, and the 2008 version of The Incredible Hulk. (That was the Edward Norton one, yes.) He’s also directed episodes of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and Lupin, both of which are available on Netflix.

The TV show Dark Matter, of course, will be available in the future on Apple TV+. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can read Dark Matter, the book by Blake Crouch, now.

A Spy Kids Netflix Reboot Is Coming From Robert Rodriguez

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 04:53 PM PDT

A movie can change the life of a kid in just a few short hours. Sometimes they’re amazed by the fantasy of a film and start dreaming of dragons. Or maybe they just found it funny enough to keep laughing long after the credits roll. And then there are the films that are so fun that they change the way that you play for years. For many kids, Spy Kids did just that. Now a younger generation will get to watch the magic because a Spy Kids Netflix reboot is coming, and Robert Rodriguez is on board.

What Story Is Behind The Robert Rodriguez Spy Kids Netflix Reboot?

The Spy Kids franchise began in 2001 with director Robert Rodriguez. The first film follows Carmen (Alexa Vega) and Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara), a brother-sister duo who learn about their parent’s long history in the world of espionage. After they discover their parent’s history, they’ll have to suit up for themselves as old foes start catching up to the Cortez family.

The sequels follow along their journey as young spies, taking them everywhere from a mysterious island to the inside of a video game. Not only are they incredibly fun films, but the franchise has also included some impressive cast members. Highlights include Antonio Banderas as Gregorio Cortez, George Clooney, Steve Buscemi, Sylvester Stallone, and Elijah Wood.

So far there have been four films in the franchise, including the main Spy Kids trilogy, which was released between 2001 and 2003, and a later sequel, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 2011. Netflix later announced a series, Spy Kids: Mission Critical, which aired for two seasons.

The Reboot That Is Coming To Streaming Game

The rights to Spy Kids were optioned by Skydance Media earlier this year. Rodriguez has remained eager to lead any future adaptations, sequels, and reboots. We aren’t surprised to hear that it’s been confirmed that the Spy Kids reboot will land on Netflix, considering his recent successful streaming film, We Can Be Heroes, which was a sequel to his 2005 film, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. A We Can Be Heroes sequel is also in the works at Netflix.

Rodriguez continues to approach family films from a personal angle, creating content that he thinks his kids would watch. His family even worked on We Can Be Heroes behind the scenes, helping to ensure that none of the content felt unnatural for the target audience. The movies that come from Rodriguez clearly aren’t looking for huge box office numbers or critical acclaim. Rather, they’re there to be consumed for joy, with the mission that kids will have fun watching them.

Robert Rodriguez will write and direct the reboot. Little else is known, other than that it will tell another multicultural tale. The original trilogy took inspiration from Rodriguez’s Mexican descent, adding Latino themes throughout.

Elizabeth Avellan and Racer Max will produce, along with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger for Skydance. Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre of Spyglass will be on the team as executive producers. No casting announcements have been made.

The Spy Kids Reboot Does Not Have A Release Date

Readers, are you as excited as we are to hear about the upcoming Netflix Spy Kids reboot from Robert Rodriguez? Let us know your thoughts. And while you’re in our comments section, let us know if the original trilogy played any part in your childhood or your family’s story. I can’t be the only one who went out and bought spy gear as a kid in 2001!

Elliot Page In The Umbrella Academy: His Character Will Also Be Trans

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 11:09 AM PDT

Elliot Page in The Umbrella Academy series has turned his character around. Elliot Page is a transgender actor who transitioned from female to male, leaving his former name behind. He also changed his looks to be consistent with the gender that goes with his being.

Many moments passed in the transformation from his previous identity to Elliot Page. Until 2020, the change was noticeable and permanent, and when he announced the change of identity through social networks. Netflix accepted the new identity and accommodated the rights and credits to the actor’s new name.

Although initially, Netflix had commented that there would be no changes in the character, there certainly will. On social media, both the actor and Netflix published the new character that the actor will play in the saga, The Umbrella Academy. We will have to wait for the new season’s premiere to see how Page’s character transitions to his new identity.

Netflix’s support for Viktor Hargreeves

Netflix has supported Elliot Page’s transition as well as his character’s. They showed their support through a social media post. First, Elliot Page unveiled the name change from Vanya to Viktor Hargreeves. Netflix commented and shared such publication asserting that the new character would be in the next season.

Netflix confirmed the gender change of the character to be played by actor Elliot Page. They retweeted Elliot’s post and added the phrase, “Welcome to the family, Viktor — we’re so happy you’re here.”

Netflix also added that they will refer to this character as “He” and not “She.” They have emphasized that the new character’s pronouns will match the actor’s. People are already wondering how Hargreeves will come out. That could be an excellent opportunity to build an inspiring story for all the trans community who watches Elliot Page in The Umbrella Academy. Although they have mentioned temporal changes to come, it is still unclear how they will do it.

What to Expect From The Umbrella Academy’s Third Season

Spoiler alert! Netflix announced that the third season would start this June 22, exclusively on its platform. The same would begin with the Hargreeves brothers, returning from 1963 after saving the world, which was how season 2 culminated. Upon arrival, they found several changes caused by their time travel.

One of the most noticeable changes was the creation of the “Sparrow” academy, an academy of superheroes with high intelligence. It was created by Reginald, having two superhero academies in the timeline. Despite having the same purpose, they will have significant differences, which viewers will notice during the season.

In fact, both academies will have extensive and bloody clashes, according to information released by Netflix. However, they will have to put aside their differences when an evil entity threatens to destroy them. This season promises to deliver action, suspense, and variant plots.

The Umbrella Academy cast

As you can tell, the start of The Umbrella Academy‘s new season is quite close. It comes with noteworthy innovations such as having supported the trans actor, Elliot Page, in this saga. Not only for defending the actor’s transition journey but also for including a character who’s doing his own transition into his true self.

The news marks a positive aspect for the transgender population, gradually being included and recognized in the TV and film industry. Elliot Page, a strong advocate of the LGBT+ movement, considers this the beginning of the acceptance of the transgender population in society and different areas, such as sports, film, and the music industry.

We’re absolutely excited to see Elliot Page in The Umbrella Academy, leaving Vanya behind and embracing Viktor. What do you think of this meaningful change?

Bruce Willis Has Aphasia, Retiring From Acting Due To Cognitive Decline

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 09:58 AM PDT

In the past few years an actor whose name is synonymous with big-budget blockbusters made dozens of direct-to-video/streaming movies. On Wednesday, Demi Moore announced via Instagram that Bruce Willis will be retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia and suffering "cognitive decline." Rumors began circulating earlier this month after the snarky YouTubers at the Half In the Bag channel – known best for their near-toxic reviews of Star Wars films – commented on the string of films Willis currently worked on. A director from some of those movies replied to a comment under that video that he saw firsthand the Die Hard legend "deteriorating" as they worked together. While they claimed it was dementia, the diagnosis of aphasia is something completely different, though the result is the same, and Bruce Willis is retiring from acting because of it.

Demi Moore Announced Bruce Willis Has Aphasia, Cognitive Decline on Her Instagram

Demi Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, made the announcement via Instagram on behalf of him and their three daughters. Since they divorced, Moore and Willis remained amicable co-parents, often celebrating holidays and special occasions together. A little more than week ago, Moore posted an image of the two on Instagram to celebrate Bruce's 67th birthday.

Demi Moore’s full statement announcing Willis is retiring from acting:

"To Bruce's amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, "Live it up" and together we plan to do just that. Love, Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn"

The news that Bruce Willis has aphasia and is retiring from acting will certainly shock some fans and confirm the rumors that others have heard. Unlike dementia, which affects memory and awareness, aphasia is a mostly language-focused disorder. The symptoms are especially debilitating to an actor, who's job revolves around language. Those who endure aphasia are sometimes unable to read aloud, speaking fluently, repeating words and phrases, and even speaking in 'gibberish.'

Bruce Willis began his career in the 1980s, landing his breakout role as David Addison on Moonlighting, a show that impacted TV common wisdom for decades. In his last year on the show, the movie Die Hard came out and launched Willis into the stratosphere as a blockbuster movie star. Since then, he's released an album, starred on Broadway, and done commercials in Japan.

Yet, it will be some time before we see Willis' final performance, as he has more than half a dozen movies still in the pipeline to be released in 2022 and 2023.

House Of The Dragon Premiere Date Set For August On HBO

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 09:25 AM PDT

The first Game of Thrones spin-off series for HBO will be here by Autumn. The cable network announced today that House of the Dragon has set a premiere date on HBO for August 21, 2022. They also dropped a new poster for the fantasy series that features a dragon egg of course. The fiery cracks in the egg can be seen as symbolic: a new show hatching from the ashes of the old. Of course it also represents House Targaryen, who will be the focus of the upcoming series.

House of the Dragon Will Light Up HBO With August Premiere Date

House of the Dragon is a prequel series for Game of Thrones. It is based on material from author George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood which details the history of House Targaryen. Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series will follow the Targaryens through the infamous “Dance of the Dragons” – the bloody conflict that led to the ruin of their dynasty over Westeros. GoT director Miguel Sapochnik serves as showrunner for the series alongside Ryan Condal.

Details about House of the Dragon have come out sporadically over the past several years. The series was the only one picked up out of several planned Game of Thrones spin-offs. However, there are certainly more spin-offs on the way with series like The Sea Snake – following Corlys Velaryon who sailed all around the world on his “nine great voyages.” Velaryon will also appear in House of the Dragon, portrayed by actor Steve Toussaint.

Another prequel spin-off in the works is 10,000 Ships – a series that will go back into ancient history and detail the mass exodus of the Rhoynish people to Dorne. They are led by a legendary figure whose name might be familiar to fans of Game of Thrones – Queen Nymeria. Of course we will also see a Dunk & Egg series on HBO. This story is probably the best known of Martin’s side projects, it follows the adventures of a young Aegon Targaryen and the hedge knight known as Duncan the Tall.

A Focus On House Targaryen

House Targaryen Prequel Series Danaerys and Drogon

House of the Dragon brings an A-list cast to HBO. The series stars Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen – also known as The Rogue Prince. Paddy Considine will portray King Viserys Targaryen – first of his name. Emma D’Arcy will bring Rhaenyra Targaryen to life – the firstborn daughter of the King. Rhaenyra features heavily in the “Dance of the Dragons” storyline.

Eve Best will portray Rhaenys Velaryon – “The Queen Who Never Was.” A Targaryen and dragonrider, Rhaenys is married to the famous traveler Corlys Velaryon. She was once in line to become ruler of Westeros, but was passed over in favor of male heirs. This led to Viserys becoming king, as he will be when the series begins.

Outside of the Targaryens, there will be some other notable historical figures from Game of Thrones lore featured in House of the Dragon. Olivia Cooke will play Lady Alicent Hightower, a member of the king’s inner circle. She is the daughter of Ser Otto Hightower – who will be brought to life on screen by Rhys Ifans. We will also meet the “Kingmaker” in knight Ser Criston Cole, played by Fabien Frankel. And Sonoya Mizuno will play one of the few non-noble characters, as the dancer Mysaria who allies herself with Daemon Targaryen.

Are Fans Ready To Return To Westeros?

Game of Thrones Final Season

The premiere date for House of the Dragon will arrive over three years since the highly divisive ending to Game of Thrones on HBO. Has it been enough time for fans of the show move on from their disappointment? Will the allure of more dragons bring fans back to Westeros? It is hard to know for sure until House of the Dragon premieres. The success of this show will likely determine the fate of the other Game of Thrones spin-offs in the works.

House of the Dragon has a premiere date set for August 21, 2022 on HBO. For all of the latest genre news and reviews, be sure to follow Comic Years on Facebook and Twitter today.

Jim Henson Documentary In The Works From Ron Howard And Brian Grazer

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 08:08 AM PDT

Jim Henson is a beloved figure in pop culture, comparable only to Mr. Rogers for his creativity, kindness, and innovative use of puppets. Now the man behind the legendary Jim Henson Company is getting the documentary treatment from Ron Howard. Oscar winners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will team up to provide a “definitive portrait” of the man behind the muppets. The team will work in conjunction with the Henson family utilizing “never-before-seen personal archives” along with “exclusive home movies, photographs, sketches and Henson's personal diaries.”

Jim Henson Shaped Generations

Jim Henson The Muppet Man

Jim Henson is famous for his children’s programming like The Muppets, Fragglerock, and of course Sesame Street. And of course we all know him as the man behind Yoda. The creator also made several genre films in his lifetime such as The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. There is an entire generation of adults alive right now who grew up on Jim Henson creations (including yours truly). It was not that long ago that we saw a resurgence in puppet popularity on Netflix with The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. So it is little surprise that there is still interest in Jim Henson as an individual.

Ron Howard has some history with Jim Henson, as a young actor he often appeared on Sesame Street. Ron Howard will produce and direct the documentary about Jim Henson. Brian Grazer will also act as a producer alongside Justin Wilkes; Margaret Bodde, and Sara Bernstein from Imagine Documentaries.

"Jim Henson transcends generations through his iconic characters. And it's one of the many reasons why I have been a lifelong fan," Howard said in a statement. "I can't wait to share a side of him and his career that people have never seen before. Henson's limitless imagination and restless creativity is like few others and has influenced so much of our world as we know it. I'm humbled to be able to share a deeper look into his life and story."

The Henson Family Gives Their Blessing

The Henson family has given their blessing to the documentary, and are providing rare archival footage for the filmmakers to utilize. They released the following statement expressing their excitement over the project.

"The Jim Henson Company's archive is a treasure reflecting our father's work, personal life and inspirations. It has been carefully maintained for the last 30 years under the leadership of archivist Karen Falk. It will be thrilling to see the story that emerges from these materials in the hands of a truly great filmmaker like Ron Howard, who has the perfect spirit and personality to tell Jim Henson's story."

A Jim Henson Biopic Is Also On The Way

Jim Henson The Muppet Man

Image via The Jim Henson Company

This is not the only film about Jim Henson that is currently in the works either. The recently announced film The Muppet Man from Disney will be a biopic about Henson. That film will follow the early period of Henson’s career as he worked to bring The Muppets to air. Lisa Henson is producing The Muppet Man as well, so it also has the approval of the late creator’s family. That biopic will be written by Michael Mitnick – an alum of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.

We have little info on the upcoming documentary about Jim Henson outside of the creators who will be working on the project. However we will certainly be keeping an eye on this, and any other Jim Henson news as we learn more. To stay up to date, be sure to follow Comic Years on Facebook and Twitter today.

The Walking Dead Rick And Michonne Spinoff Series – What Happened To Her On TWD?

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 07:21 AM PDT

From the moment Rick left The Walking Dead, we've been waiting for him to come back, probably while saving some new beloved character about to be overrun by walkers. Rick leaving hurt, but then Michonne dipped too, and within a few years, most of TWD's leads were just gone. It might just be hope, and it might just be boundless speculation as we reach the end of the main series, but it seems like something's about to happen. We've based a lot on rumors, and we're going to keep doing that because there are signs of The Walking Dead giving Rick and Michonne a spinoff of their own. We're going to talk about all the evidence that suggests there's another spinoff series in the works where TWD will answer where Michonne, what happened to her, and why she had to leave her family.

What's Signaling a TWD Spinoff for Rick and Michonne?

The moment The Walking Dead broke off from the comics, the answer to every question became maybe. Rick isn't even supposed to be alive and a lot of Michonne's was traded with other characters. The departure from the source material has helped and hurt the show. Carol is way cooler now. But Carl sure did die right before the arc where he's supposed to have some of his best moments. So a lot of what we think is going to happen is drawing conclusions from little signs and optimistic rumors.

The Walking Dead Rick Spin off

Image via @Kingsuh1018 on Instagram

Andrew Lincoln left The Walking Dead to spend time with his family. We've talked about how he's back in Georgia, and it would be so perfect if that was to film a few short appearances in a mini series. A quick dip back into TWD, then returning to the family until they finally finish writing the script. All this would be one thing, but TWD is historically not fantastic at keeping secrets, and that's happening again. According to Twitter user @lapidus, Ross Marquand (Aaron) let slip that there are talks about a Rick and Michonne spinoff. Granted, this is a secondary source quoting a secondary source, but we want to believe.

What Happened to Michonne and How Does It Predict Rick Returning?

We think there's going to be a short TWD spinoff with Rick and Michonne, but it's probably not going to be done in the same way as the upcoming Isle of the Dead or the Daryl and Carol series. These spinoffs so far sound like they can continue the story of the main series wherever it leaves off. But some characters left early. That's why we think if there is going to be a spinoff with Rick and Michonne, it's mostly going to be about Michonne's journey with that huge caravan of survivors. At the time of Michonne's departure, then-showrunner Scott Gimple basically outright said they're planning on going into what happened to Michonne. Rick might be in it just as a figure in flashbacks, dreams, and maybe in the last episode when he wakes up in yet another hospital.

What happened to Michonne

Image via AMC

The series is known for making huge changes with the shift in showrunners, not telling this story would be a weird decision that would make what has happened to Michonne through the whole show mean so little. Michonne's whole arc is about letting herself trust and build a life beyond just surviving. It would be a Jaime-Lannister-dying-holding-Cersei-style movie to undo her entire character progression just for plot convenience.

Wild Speculation About The Walking Dead Rick and Michonne Spinoff

Like many actors on TWD, Danai Gurira's fame has grown since she first joined the series as Michonne way back in season 3. As must happen to all actors one day, she now has a major role in the MCU as General Okoye. We wouldn't be too surprised if filming for Wakanda Forever wrapped and a bit later we learned of a new spin off filming.

TWD Michonne Spin off

Image via AMC

Our updated theory is that Isle of the Dead might have Maggie and Negan inadvertently discovering signs that Rick is alive while doing something unrelated. The Carol and Daryl series will be an on-the-road search for Rick following in Michonne's footsteps. And then we'll get to see Michonne's side of things just before the first movie hits. It will be the return of Rick tucked into a Michonne TWD miniseries. The timeline might get a little wonky with spinoffs taking place non-chronologically, but season 11 has been teaching us to get used to jumps and shifts in time. It’s not much of a stretch to assume they’re doing the spinoffs out of order, which they’ve also done with practically all the other Walking Dead shows.

The way The Walking Dead is going, it feels a little like it did back in season 2 and 3 when the country was masochistically in love with this painfully enticing series. We don't know what's going to happen next, but for a lot of fans, the pain of seeing the main series end is sweetened by what might come after. As long as they do it well. And they don't kill Judith.

The Walking Dead final season is releasing on AMC now!

Would you watch a The Walking Dead spinoff following Michonne to Rick? Tell us in the comments below or drop your predictions for season 11C!

Henry Cavill And Roach Reunite Ahead Of Season Three Of The Witcher

Posted: 30 Mar 2022 06:58 AM PDT

Fans of Netflix's The Witcher may believe that the titular character's horse is gone for good. It does die at the end of the second season, after all. That doesn't mean that Henry Cavill and Roach won't be seeing each other in season three of The Witcher, however. Instead, it appears as though the new Roach has already been cast; the actor portraying Geralt of Rivia has shown the two reuniting.

At least, they're meeting again ahead of production on The Witcher season 3. Fans of the books and games may know how this is possible, although those who've only seen the show may be a bit confused. For clarity; Geralt owns multiple horses throughout his journeys. Each of these is named Roach.

As a result, the death of one Roach leads to the purchase of another. That's an aspect that showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich recently spoke to with GamesRadar, saying:

"We were already pushing the boundaries of how long a horse can live. One of the things I love about the books and the games is he continues to name his future horses Roach. I want to be able to start talking about that – who was Roach in his life and what happens when he loses his best friend? How does he gain a new one?”

Roach's death at the end of The Witcher season two was an emotional one. Fans of the show had grown to love the horse as much as Geralt had. It'd been with him through thick and thin, even helping to save his life on several occasions. To say the two had bonded would be an understatement. Fans could feel Geralt's anguish during the season.

That anguish seems long forgotten, however, as Henry Cavill and Roach have appeared together again. The actor took to Instagram to show how preparations were going for the show. It looks as though they're well underway, although The Witcher season 3 is still quite a while away.  As Havill notes on Instagram:

“Reunited with my equine friend Hector today, and my human friend Laszlo! After a good ride out through the mountains, Hector showed off some of his new rearing skills. He’s showing some promise.”

Reunion With A Twist

Fans of The Witcher may be surprised to see that Hector looks remarkably different from the Roach they've become accustomed to. That's because of the character's death during the second season of the show. As a result, Geralt has gotten another horse – also called Roach – which is being played by another actor. For all intents and purposes, it's a new character with the same name.

The Witcher season 3 doesn't yet have a release date. A spin off – titled Blood Origin – is due out later this year. The project isn't set to feature Henry Cavill and Roach, however.

Are you looking forward to season three of The Witcher? What do you think of Henry Cavill and Roach reuniting? What do you think of the new horse? Is it appropriate, given the old Roach's on-screen death? Let us know in the comments!
