A new Capcom Showcase has been announced for next week Posted: 07 Jun 2022 07:05 AM PDT The summer game showcases are about to kick into high gear, and a new challenger has entered the ring. Capcom has announced a new digital Capcom Showcase, which will be taking place next week on June 13 at 6 PM ET. The livestream will give fans a look at the latest news and updates for Capcom games on the horizon. Capcom says that it will be "diving deeper into details and news on previously announced titles." The show is expected to run for roughly 35 minutes. You’ll be able to check it out on the company's official YouTube channel and Twitch channel. Capcom ran a digital showcase during E3 last year. During that event, it confirmed that DLC was in development for Resident Evil Village and laid out a roadmap of future content for Monster Hunter Rise among other things. Some fans considered the show to be disappointing overall, but there's reason to believe that Capcom will have a more impressive presentation this time around. There are a lot of exciting possibilit...
The next Sonic Central has been announced for June 7, bringing info on ‘upcoming projects’ Posted: 06 Jun 2022 05:33 PM PDT Tomorrow, Sega is hosting another Sonic Direct, this time to offer a “sneak peak” at “upcoming projects.” We’ll likely see plenty on all things Sonic still to arrive in 2022. And perhaps, beyond even that. Sonic Central starts on June 7 at noon ET on Sega’s Twitch or YouTube channel. It’s impossible to nimbly sidestep the Sonic Frontiers landmine, so let’s just hop to it. Sonic Frontiers will hopefully get a better showing during the June Sonic Central event. Gameplay footage of Sonic Frontiers has been shared via IGN, and to understandably mixed results. So far, the game has been looking like an aimless sandbox with little to do other than bop random bots or complete rudimentary puzzles. Fans have been divided, with a portion asking for the game to get delayed so it can actually become, well, a game. There are some defenders, but they seem to be few in number. The Sonic Central event tomorrow may include Frontiers, but there’...
New Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl patch finally adds voice acting Posted: 06 Jun 2022 05:15 PM PDT Although Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl garnered a surprising degree of hype and attention before it came out, that buzz mostly died down soon after its launch. Opinions varied wildly on the game, but one common criticism had to do with the title’s voice acting — or lack thereof. Even though the game’s limited budget made the absence of such a feature understandable, that did not prevent players from feeling weirded out by it. For many, seeing these beloved characters from their childhood fail even to let out a grunt, let alone a whole phrase, sucked the soul out of the game entirely. Fortunately, developer Ludosity has finally addressed this issue, as it just released a free patch for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl that incorporates voice acting. Alongside this announcement, the official Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Twitter account unveiled a list of voice actors that provided their talent to this new patch. The developers managed to include several of the original voice ...
Hollow Knight: Silksong may actually make an appearance during Summer Game Fest following tease Posted: 06 Jun 2022 02:32 PM PDT Ah, Hollow Knight: Silksong, the DLC and grew too large, its years-long development cycle taunting fans with a release date that never arrives. Or, maybe it will, and sooner than you think. Granted, I’m speculating here. But recently, it’s been teased that Hollow Knight: Silksong will see a “world premiere” showing during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest this week. Will it at last be news of when the game arrives? We have until Thursday to see if this little hint goes that far. For those who have been following, Summer Game Fest has all but taken over E3 duties after the latter got canceled this year. Since then, Keighley has been setting up the show, all the while tossing out teasers on what to expect. Back in April, he teased that The Callisto Protocol would make an appearance. And that recently got confirmed. During the weekend, Keighley couldn’t help but to tease some more about a reveal. However, it wasn’t him dropping a cheeky emoji this...
Capcom acknowledges the Street Fighter 6 roster leak in a recent tweet Posted: 06 Jun 2022 01:30 PM PDT Last Thursday, Capcom unveiled an impressive new trailer for Street Fighter 6 during Sony’s State of Play presentation. Although it revealed quite a bit about this new installment, such as the revamped fighting engine and an open-ended RPG-esque mode, it kept the character reveals to a minimum, only highlighting around four characters and briefly teasing a fifth one. Presumably, Capcom would have slowly trickled out character announcements before the game’s release. But, thanks to a leak that seemingly revealed the entire roster of the base game a mere day after its announcement, it appears that Capcom’s chance to surprise players with its character picks has already passed. Notably, through the official Street Fighter Twitter account, Capcom subtly acknowledged the Street Fighter 6 leak that same day. The account posted a tweet stating that “as residents of Metro City, we've all seen things we weren't supposed to see, but we’re all in this togethe...
