| This Elden Ring mod adds a Binley Mega Chippy battle Posted: 05 Jun 2022 10:12 AM PDT There are many fantastic Elden Ring mods on PC that can add really useful tweaks and features, like randomised enemy encounters for new challenges or seamless co-op multiplayer. This Elden Ring mod, on the other hand, adds a giant Binley Mega Chippy for you to fight. YouTuber ToastedShoes does a lot of mod-related videos, including a whole series titled 'Elden Ring but ruined by mods' - the most recent of which includes boss battles against Bowser and a buff Toad, a quest for Amy Rose, and Big Bird proving to be more terrifying than the dragon he's replacing. ToastedShoes posted their latest discovery on Reddit, which is an impressive Elden Ring mod that replaces the towering Walking Mausoleums with, well, beloved TikTok and meme star the Binley Mega Chippy. So it's essentially a Walking Chippy instead. As usual, if you want to visit this respectable eating establishment, you'll have to take out the legs first so it crashes to the ground. That's pretty normal for a Coventry takeaway. RELATED LINKS: The best Elden Ring builds, Elden Ring bosses, The best Elden Ring classes |
| DC Universe Online lead departs after Marvel MMO cancellation Posted: 05 Jun 2022 09:06 AM PDT At the end of May, a Marvel MMO from the team behind the similar online superhero game DC Universe Online was cancelled a year after being announced - which seems to have set off an exodus in developer Dimension Ink and Daybreak Games, including DC Universe Online lead dev Jack Emmert. Jack Emmert was previously director of superhero MMORPG games City of Heroes and City of Villains and co-founder of developer Cryptic Studios, before becoming director of both DC Universe Online and the Marvel MMO and CEO of Dimensional Ink Games. Emmert has been trying to get a 'Marvel Universe Online' MMO out since 2006. Following the cancellation of the Marvel MMO at Dimensional Ink, Jack Emmert has left the studio entirely and joined NetEase's Jackalope Games. Unfortunately, he is not the only high-profile developer to have left Dimensional Ink in the last month. Lead content designer Rob 'Charon' Frazier apparently left on June 3, amongst a number of other recent departures that has fans concerned about the quality of DC Universe Online going forward. |
| GoldenEye 007 remastered Achievements are public on Xbox Posted: 05 Jun 2022 07:50 AM PDT One of the best FPS games of all time might finally get an official release on PC, and the public reveal of GoldenEye 007 remastered Achievements on the Xbox storefront now suggests that the best James Bond game might even get a reveal at Summer Game Fest. In 2021, a long-rumoured remaster of the Nintendo 64 classic GoldenEye 007 leaked on the internet, but due to rights issues, fans assumed it would never get a release. Developer Rare parted ways from publisher Nintendo and is now owned by Microsoft, and none of these names have the actual James Bond gaming licence (to kill). In January 2022, however, a load of official Achievements for a GoldenEye 007 re-release were spotted by fans, and industry insiders suggested a release was imminent. It obviously still hasn't happened, but suddenly those same Achievements are now publicly visible on the Xbox store. What's more, they have received numerous recent revisions since they were leaked in January, and people seem to be unlocking them somehow - including at least one person who works at Rare, presumably someone on the developer team. | Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions are no more… separately Posted: 05 Jun 2022 06:55 AM PDT We hope you're not too attached to either of the Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions of one of the best building games on PC, as Microsoft and Mojang have confirmed that both will cease to exist on June 7 - and be replaced by the Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition, so you don't have to use them separately anymore. Whether or not you're a fan of the phenomenal sandbox game, you may still be confused by the presence of two different versions of Minecraft on PC - the Java and Bedrock editions. PCGamesN has a handy guide to explain the difference between the two, but regardless - if you paid for one, you didn't get access to the other. Which is a little crazy. Mojang and Microsoft clearly agree, because now they have announced (thanks, Neowin) the Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition - a single-purchase version of Minecraft on PC that replaces the separate editions. This goes on sale on June 7 and becomes "the standard and only offering of vanilla Minecraft on Windows PC." RELATED LINKS: Minecraft console commands, Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods |
| The best Diablo Immortal builds Posted: 05 Jun 2022 05:25 AM PDT Looking for some powerful Diablo Immortal builds to start experimenting with? Blizzard Entertainment's mobile-focused action-RPG has arrived on PC and hardcore Diablo fans are already busily min-maxing their favourite classes to create unstoppable farming machines. Between the six classes and innumerable legendary items and gems, there are lots of ways you can hone your heroes, whether you want to be brilliant at buffing teammates, mighty in melees, or specialists at taking down single targets. Despite having so many options at your disposal, the basics of making the best Diablo build are satisfyingly simple: you find a combination of abilities that you're comfortable with, and then buff them with all the legendary loot you can find. We have not included a build for every class in the RPG game, instead we've listed builds that are straightforward to play and relatively easy to grind for - hence why our Diablo Immortal Necromancer build isn't here. And while we've listed the legendary items that are key to each build, you won't find recommendations for legendary weapons unless they're essential - most of the time you just need to look out for good rolls and effects that gel with your build. | Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 release date – speculation, skins Posted: 05 Jun 2022 04:43 AM PDT While season 3 has only just begun, the new Fortnite battle pass gives a strong indication of when the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 release date will be. While we don't know where the story of the battle royale game is headed, we can still speculate what skins may feature in the season 4 battle pass. The dust has settled on Chapter 3 Season 2 and the spectacular Collision end event concluded with the seeming death of the previous antagonist Doctor Slone and the emergence of a new one, called Geno. Dwayne 'The Foundation' Johnson made another amazing appearance, as did Darth Vader and the real-world Durr Burger. The new season 3 is nicknamed Vibin' for some reason, although there's obviously a party atmosphere going on, and has already confirmed both Indiana Jones and Darth Vader as part of the battle pass. Pac-Man is still ongoing, and there will likely be more Marvel skins to come - including Shuri and an original Spider-Man skin. But what can we expect in season 4? | Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass is vibin’ Lucasfilm Posted: 05 Jun 2022 02:55 AM PDT After the climactic Fortnite Collision event put an end to season 2, the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass 'Vibin' is now completely revealed even as fans wait for the release time - and this time, Epic is going heavy on the Lucasfilm, with the rumoured Fortnite Star Wars Darth Vader and Indiana Jones skins confirmed. While the season 2 battle pass went all-in on Marvel Comics, the battle royale game is heading to another Disney-owned studio for season 3 (it'll be Pixar next). This will be a day long remembered, as the much-teased Darth Vader skin is the tier 100 unlock in the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass - along with numerous items such as an Imperial Shuttle glider and Probe Droid backpack, but still no lightsaber pickaxe darn it. Furthermore, while his next game is still pretty far off - although we might get a look at it during Summer Game Fest - Indiana Jones is joining the battle pass as the guest character. Like Prowler last season, Indy won't be available for another 32 days - so around July 7 - and is unlocked by completing quests to earn his skin and items like a raft glider (we're not drowning, we're crashing) and a Staff of Ra pickaxe.
