It was also the first Japanese film to have ever grossed over 40 billion yen domestically. It grossed over $44 million within North America during its time in theaters. The movie continued to break box office records while in cinema, eventually unseating Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away as the largest grossing film in Japan. Final Fantasy XIV Crystalline Conflict European Cup Announced Posted: 17 Jun 2022 01:00 PM PDT European Final Fantasy XIV players will have the opportunity to enter the Crystalline Conflict Cup. This is a PvP event that will be held from July 21-22, 2022. The tournament will feature commentary on the matches through Twitch. More details about the Final Fantasy XIV Crystalline Conflict European Cup will be announced close to the tournament date. [embed]https://twitter.com/FF_XIV_EN/status/1537865158462259201[/embed] The Crystalline Conflict is a PvP mode that appeared in Final Fantasy XIV as of patch 6.1. The mode itself consists of players duking it out while trying to move their respective crystal towards objective points on the map. A ranked system exists for the Crystalline Conflict, which provides rewards for players based on their performances. A battle pass was also made available through the patch update. Since its release, several Job Classes have seen numerous adjustments as a result. Final Fantasy XIV Producer Naoki Yoshida spoke briefly about the mentioned balance changes, assuring players that a lot of information regarding the win rates of specific Job Classes were taken into consideration. This was also done to encourage players to use other Job Classes, like the Black Mage. Final Fantasy XIV is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Crystalline Conflict European Cup will be held from July 21 to July 22, 2022. The post Final Fantasy XIV Crystalline Conflict European Cup Announced appeared first on Siliconera. |
25 Years of Final Fantasy Tactics Posted: 17 Jun 2022 12:00 PM PDT Final Fantasy Tactics launched in Japan on June 20, 1997. To celebrate the sub-franchise's 25th anniversary, we're sharing our Final Fantasy Tactics memories. My Final Fantasy Tactics memory is a sad one! I arrived fashionably late to the PlayStation party and acquired a system long after launch. Which meant I didn't get to its games for a while! I'd purchased a used copy of FFT and meant to play it! I did get into a few battles. But an ex-boyfriend indefinitely "borrowed" it.Which means I didn't really play it until War of the Lions for the PSP. Given the extra classes and refinements, that probably wasn't the worst thing. — Jenni I've got two main Final Fantasy Tactics memories. The first dates back to a few years after the PS1 release, when I was in high school and found out that the copy of Tactics that was given to me as a birthday present was worth several hundred dollars on a website called "eBay," but only if it was in good condition. Sadly, my copy wasn't. The second memory came after the game was relaunched as Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions on PSP, receiving a new translation, and crucially, a number of exclusive cutscenes. The best of them is one celebrating eternal Saint of Lady Knights Agrias Oaks' birthday. Despite having some real "you have to buy the guide to even know this happens"-type BS requirements, the little scene is lovely and has slowly colonized all my memories of this classic game. People may occasionally argue that the PS1 version was better, but this scene proves them wrong all on its own. — Josh The original Final Fantasy Tactics is fun! It's great! But my heart lies with its GBA successor. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance swaps a visual style that hasn't aged technically quite as well for one that still looks stellar! It swaps a tough onboarding process for one of the best tutorials in gaming history. And perhaps most importantly, it doesn't swap the core tactical system that made the first game so great. I'd love a Tactics remake that polishes up its shortcomings, for sure. But Advance doesn't need one to be a blast. — Graham What are your Final Fantasy Tactics memories? World of Games Storefront Puts Up Persona 5 Royal Switch Listing Posted: 17 Jun 2022 11:00 AM PDT World of Games put a Switch product listing up for Persona 5 Royal. This could be a potential leak for another version of the game. At the moment, the game is only confirmed for the PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will come to those platforms on October 21, 2022. However, WOG.Ch also suggests it will come to the Switch on that same day. Here's a screenshot of the product listing that appeared on June 17, 2022, in the event the page is pulled. And here's the Persona 5 Royal Switch box art from the page. It has the WOG.Ch watermark across the front. It lists it as a PEGI 16 title, which is the rating the PS4 version had in the region. The product listing suggests that Deep Silver will be the publisher for the game. However, Sega acted as the publisher for the PS4 version of Persona 5 Royal in Europe. This doesn't guarantee Persona 5 Royal is headed to the system. This could be an incorrect or inaccurate leak. Persona 5 Royal is available for the PlayStation 4. It will come to the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 21, 2022. If this possible product listing is accurate, Persona 5 Royal could also appear on the Nintendo Switch. FFVII Cloud Pin Badge Collections Coming in 2023 Posted: 17 Jun 2022 10:00 AM PDT Following the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration Broadcast, Square Enix opened pre-orders for all sorts of merchandise inspired by the series. Among the items are two FFVII Cloud pin badge collections. Each volume will feature pins with his depictions in mainline games, spin-offs, and crossovers over the years. A purchase gets you a full display box for $60/5,500円. (Square Enix didn't note how many pins come in one "display.") They'll each appear on September 10, 2022 in Japan and in January 2023 in North America. The thing about the sets is that these collections are displays of blind boxes. So when people buy either volume 1 or volume 2, they are getting a set number of blind boxes that could contain the 10 pins from that collection. You aren't guaranteed to get one of each with the purchase. Each pin features a picture of Cloud, as well as lists the game that image is taken from. Volume 1 features pictures of Cloud from FFVII, FFVII Remake, FFVII Advent Children, and the spin-offs Before Crisis FFVII and Dissidia Final Fantasy. There are multiple FFVII, FFVII Remake, and Advent Children pins in volume 2 too. However, that one also shows him as he appeared in Crisis Core and G-Bike. Here's a closer look at all 20 pins. More Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Soundtrack Songs Shared Posted: 17 Jun 2022 09:30 AM PDT As part of the measures to promote Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo shared even more songs from its soundtrack. It initially released a track connected to the main characters Noah and Mio. However, the newest ones are more general music people will hear when going through the game. Both of the new songs feature the same background image. That means people can see the Mechonis and Uraya titan while the music plays. Here's "The Weight of Life," the first of the two new tracks shared.
The second new song from the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 soundtrack is "Keves Battle." This is one of the battle themes and, given the name, it will probably play when characters are fighting in Noah, Eunie, and Lanz's homeland.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will come to the Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022. The special edition includes an art book and SteelBook case. The post More Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Soundtrack Songs Shared appeared first on Siliconera. |

Splatoon 3 Undertow Spillway Turf War Map Teased Posted: 17 Jun 2022 08:30 AM PDT People can get a quick look at a new place to explore in the world of Splatoon. Nintendo shared a look at a Splatoon 3 Turf War map called Undertow Spillway. The over 20 second video looks at ramps, obstacles, and both upper and lower level areas. As spillways are built at dams, there will likely be potential water hazard areas to fall into. However, the look at the Splatoon 3 Turf War map mainly focuses on surfaces people can walk along and leave ink on. A few platforms also appear, suggesting spots where people could make leaps to jump or ascend to new locations. Some jellyfish appear at the very end.
In the past, Nintendo showed off quite a few returning Splatoon 3 weapons. It showed off chargers, rollers, sloshers, and splatlings. It also showed off some of the foes we'll face. Both Octarian and Octoling art and screenshots showed up online. Splatoon 3 will debut on the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Mariah Trailer Appears Posted: 17 Jun 2022 08:00 AM PDT The latest JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R character trailer stars Mariah. She's one of the villains in the Stardust Crusaders arc. She's also one of the new fighters debuting in this version of the game. Mariah's situation is a rather unique one. Shinobu Will Be First Electro Healer in Genshin Impact Posted: 17 Jun 2022 04:30 AM PDT HoYoverse has released more information on Shinobu and how she will play when she debuts in Genshin Impact. She will appear as one of the four-star characters on the Itto banner, which will go live on June 21, 2022, and last until July 12, 2022. Aside from information on her kit, the official Genshin Impact YouTube account also uploaded the character demo video "Kuki Shinobu: Jack of All Trades." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13fviLTc0Aw Shinobu will be an Electro Sword user, and she will work as a combination healer and sub DPS in a similar way to Sayu. Her Elemental Skill, Sanctifying Ring, will create a ring around her that constantly deals Electro DMG. Activating it will sacrifice her HP, but the active character within the ring will have their HP restored. The healing will scale based on Shinobu's max HP. As for Shinobu's Elemental Burst, Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite, she will deal continuous Electro DMG within an AoE. How much damage it does will also scale off of her max HP. Like Hu Tao, the lower Shinobu's HP is, the more effective her Burst is. In Shinobu's case, the field will last longer when her HP is 50% or lower. In English, Kira Buckland voices Shinobu. Buckland previously played 2B in NieR Automata and Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. As for the Japanese voice-over, Kaori Mizuhashi voices her. Mizuhashi's previous roles include Mami from Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Miss Crane in Fate/Grand Order. Shinobu played a major role in the Perilous Trail event. Additionally, she will have a Hangout Event from the next update. Genshin Impact is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The Itto and Shinobu banner will run from June 21 until July 12, 2022. The post Shinobu Will Be First Electro Healer in Genshin Impact appeared first on Siliconera. |
