Seeing the light: Terzani's new gallery space | News | Architonic Posted: 04 Jul 2022 03:00 PM PDT The Italian city of Florence is regarded by many as the cradle of the Renaissance, during which artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci helped to redefine the cultural landscape of Europe. Florence remains an important artistic hub, with many creative companies and organisations establishing offices and showrooms within its historic walls. Italian luxury lighting brand Terzani is among the latest businesses to open a dedicated space in the city, offering visitors an opportunity to explore its collection in a gallery-like setting that befits its ambition of operating at the intersection of art, luxury and design. Terzani was founded in Florence in 1972 and is rightly proud of its home city's artistic heritage, which has consistently inspired its bespoke, handmade <a href="https://www.architonic.com/en/products/terzani-lighting/31014… |
AXOR and the colour of the sea | News | Architonic Posted: 04 Jul 2022 03:00 PM PDT They say the most beautiful beaches are off the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. Or are they surpassed by the South Pacific island of Bora-Bora and its azure waters? Maybe you don't have to measure it so precisely, because one thing is clear: where sea and land meet, a special moment always unfolds, whether it's on white sand or solidified volcanic rock. AXOR commissioned the British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to explore the magical nuances found in the surf of our oceans. For the mixer manufacturer from the Black Forest, the duo expanded the AXOR One collection, launched last year, to include six noble shades inspired by the natural interplay of light, colour and water. Time for something different with AXOR | News | Architonic Posted: 04 Jul 2022 03:00 PM PDT The past decades of globalisation have brought with them a number of achievements, but also major shortcomings in terms of design, with more and more things increasingly looking the same, almost regardless of where you are in the world. Traditional characteristics are giving way to international standardisation. People have been alienated from the familiar while also feeling the rapidly growing complexities of modern life. For these reasons, it is only logical that a strong trend towards individualisation can now be observed, with handcrafted production again enjoying a higher status. With the project 'Distinctive: New ideas of individual luxury. From personalities for personalities', AXOR investigates how different people in many different places are looking for personal expressions of luxury, style and well-being. The faucet brand focuses on places where rituals play an important role: the bathroom as an intimate spac… |
A dystopian future with exclusive tapware by AXOR | News | Architonic Posted: 04 Jul 2022 03:00 PM PDT In a new edition of its exclusive bathroom concepts, AXOR is once again offering inspiration for the design of luxurious oases of well-being. As part of its project 'Distinctive. New ideas of individual luxury. From personalities for personalities', Paris-based designer Tristan Auer was asked to create a unique wellness concept alongside other experts. For the project, and in his typical style, Auer captured not only the sights, sounds and smells but also the textures of Hong Kong, the city where a high-rise flat was made available to him for the execution of this special creative task, and a setting that the designer immediately compared with the cityscape of Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner'. Auer's design, with mirrors framed by neon lights, is reminiscent of the narrow streets of the metropolis, lined with flashing advertising signs and populated… |
