Prior to traveling to Florida I did some painstaking research in advance on where to have dinner each evening. I'm telling you, I hit the jackpot with Yellow Dog Cafe! Highly recommended. This place is situated right on the Indian River with stunning views. Especially during thunderstorm activity. I sat in the downstairs open air (covered) patio and my timing was perfect.

Upon arriving, parking was kind of awkward. It's mandatory valet which always throws me off. The valet was super nice though. He took my car away and I made my way inside. As soon as you enter you know you're in a top-shelf restaurant. Lots of wood, thoughtful decor, etc. From the outside it looks a little sketchy, but don't judge a book by its cover, right? Very friendly and accommodating staff as well.

The menu here is vast and expansive. I started with a cup of Crab Bisque. Served with a cute dog shaped crisp, it comes out hot and delicious. The texture and flavor was outstanding. There were unfortunately a few shell fragments I had to pick out of my mouth. For the main, I enjoyed their "Shrimp Louisiana". Sauteed shrimp in a spicy blend of Creole seasoning served over stone ground corn grits with crawfish, Andouille sausage & vegetable succotash. Such an exquisite dish with a lot going on. Definitely a combustion of flavors and textures.
