The Railway is a family friendly pub-restaurant based in Drighlington, that serves a range of decent, quality pub food including Sunday Dinners. Just a quick review this time as I have only had the chance to visit here for the Sunday Dinner so far but the food was good and it seems like a nice choice of restaurant to take family/friends.
I recently took my Mum to The Railway for Sunday Dinner which we both really enjoyed. As my Mum is partially disabled, the venue seemed a good choice as it in't too far away from Tingley where she lives, has lots of parking, is easily accessible and the dining area caters for a large amount of people as well as still being well spaced out.
The Sunday Dinner set menu offers Starters, Main and Desserts; 1 course £12.95, 2 courses £16.95 or 3 courses £20.95. The full food menu is also still available on a Sunday. We weren't fussed for any of the starters so went straight in with the Roast. At The Railway you can choose from Roast Beef, Turkey, Chicken, Pork or Honey Roast Gammon, with all the trimmings, Grilled Salmon or Vegetable Chilli. We both decided to go for the pork, this came with Yorkshire Pudding, mashed potato, roast potatoes, chipolata, stuffing, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and gravy. The portion size was decent and although the meat was a bit fatty, everything was cooked well and it was overall a nice Sunday dinner. I would go again and I'd like to try something from their other menu. We were definitely too full to order desserts.
The staff here were friendly, we did seem to be waiting a short while for our order to be taken and then to get someone's attention to pay the bill but in summary we had no complaints.
