After the success of the Basque cheesecake, I had been eager to try making the Japanese cheesecake, which was slightly more complicated. It was someone's birthday so there was the perfect occasion, and I decided to make the cake a bit more colourful. It turned out great for the most part - no crack, and the texture was fine and everything, but there was something a little off about the taste of the cheese. Not sure if it was the proportion of the ingredients or if the type of cream cheese that I used just wasn't rich enough - wouldn't be surprised, it's hard to get high-quality cheese products in China. Gotta give this another try sometime...hmmmm.
