Neapolitan pizza restaurant with branches in Sheffield, Manchester & Hertford, serving award-winning authentic pizza & small plates. Proove's pizza dough is made with only the best Italian 00-grade flour, slow-proved for 20 hours and hand-stretched, resulting in the perfect pizza topped with high-quality fresh ingredients. Their Sheffield branch was their first to open in the UK in 2015 and is based in the buzzing area of Broomhill.

A few week's ago I was kindly invited by Proove as part of a Sheffield Foodie Socials and local food blogger Ambassador event to try some of their delicious menu - and wow, THE PIZZAS JUST KEPT ON COMING!! From classic toppings such as Prosciutto & Parmigiano Reggiano, to new tastes such as a pesto pizza base, my mouth was watering at every bite and I did not struggle to eat my body weight in their scrumptious pizzas, salads and of course desserts. Here's what I got to sample;

ORTOLANA (A recent addition to their Main Menu) - San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, roasted aubergine, roasted courgette & roasted peppers seasoned with garlic, parsley & black pepper. Packed full of a gorgeous mixture of vegetables, I really enjoyed this pizza.

PESTO ROYALE - Homemade walnut pesto base, fior di latte mozzarella, fresh chillies, red onions, artichoke, portobello mushrooms roasted in truffe oil & extra virgin olive oil. A pesto base on a pizza isn't something I would usually pick, but after tasting this one, it soon became a favourite flavour of mine!

SAN DANIELE - San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, Prosciutto di San Daniele, rocket, shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano & extra virgin olive oil. An oldie but still a goodie, I do enjoy rocket on pizza to give it that edge.

VESUVIO (Another fantastic newbie on the menu!) - Arrabbiata sauce, provola, spianata piccante, nduja & fresh chilli. This pizza had a lovely fiery kick to it. Ask for a vegetarian friendly version is you love a spicy pizza!

GIARDINO SALAD - Seasonal lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, onion, peppers, olives & finished with our Proove dressing. GF. A refreshing, tangy salad perfect for a light accompaniment to the pizzas.

TIRAMISU - a classic... tasted very boozy!

BISCOFF CHEESECAKE (UNBELIEVABLE VEGAN FRIENDLY & NEW TO THE MENU) - Yes, you would not believe this was vegan until we told you so! So light and yet so creamy, unbelievably vegan friendly. A hit with everyone!

HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE BROWNIES WITH GELATO - Gluten free. This dessert is always a bit of me. Lovely.

I washed all this down with some great complimentary wine - Red - Barbera Cornale. My favourite pizzas were the Pesto Royale and Vesuvio, infact if I could half and half it or fold them both into a sandwich THAT would be my ultimate taste sensation. It was great to meet the team here as well as co-owner Deepak for making us feel welcome, and a special thank you to Sally for talking us through everything and giving us a taste of what is to come.

If I haven't made you hungry yet then there is something wrong with you haha. Go try Proove and let the food speak for itself, it is seriously good.
