A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS - Cheese, Wine & Chocolate Tasting Evening

Friday (2nd June) evening myself and some ladies from work enjoyed a Cheese & Wine Tasting & Pairing Event with a slight twist, there was lots of chocolate too!! Locally made cheese, perfect wine pairings and amazing hand-crafted chocolates & Bon bons - this was right up my street.
Our evening started with an Earl Grey cocktail, a White Choc & Yuzu truffle and a Chocolate Mousse bonbon (good start obviously). Gorgeously laid out cheeseboards were then handed out and we got to the pairings;
Vouvray Sec Chenin Blanc & Barncliffe Brie (Gold Winner at Artisan Cheese Awards) - this was a great match, the Brie was so creamy and it was also great topped with a local honey too!
Incanta, Pinot Noir & Summer Field Alpine from Whitby. A lovely match and the cheese was delicious, even better than the French Gruyère that we got to try (gold old Yorkshire)
Pocas Ruby Port & Dovedale Blue - pleasantly surprised how this worked so well together, the blue being a less strong and more creamy version too. We also had the chance to try Imiter La Perfection's "I'm Out" - a take on a Turkish Delight with a pomegranate and rose filling and a pink peppercorn ganache - an unusual but winning combination.
It was a lovely evening and something a little different to do with friends - much recommended! Hope to see the next event soon!! Thanks all for a delightful night.
