British Airways Flight 272 is a daily non-stop from San Diego to London. It departs Lindbergh Field at 7:00 pm and arrives across the pond around 1:00 pm the next day. While in the "World Traveler Plus" cabin I was able to experience two interesting hot meals, plus a myriad of complimentary libations. The first meal was dinner which consisted of a rigatoni pasta dish in a marinara sauce with several tasty meatballs. I think I ate the whole thing. It was accompanied by some sort of couscous dish, of which I took two small bites. Not sure why couscous is such a ubiquitous airplane food, but that seems to be the only place I encounter it. Not a fan.
For breakfast we were served a scrambled egg dish with a fatty sausage (banger) and some mushroom things that remained untouched. The dish was accompanied by a nice blueberry muffin and a pretty little fruit cup. The hot dish contained quite a pool of grease at the bottom. The eggs were decent but that banger had such an odd texture and flavor. I did eat the whole thing which no doubt contributed to the uneasy feeling in my stomach that lasted a few hours after we landed in London. Jr FoodObs had the same reaction unfortunately. The rest of the nearly 3 week trip though was full of wonderful food and memorable dining experiences.
