This Sheffield based independent Pizza restaurant originally opened at Steelyard in Kelham Island and have now moved to Kommune in the city centre. Renowned for making authentic pizzas in their Gozney wood & gas fired oven, using only the best ingredients, their food is as tasty as it looks. With their passion for food, Urban Pizza Co have now extended their menu to include freshly made pasta dishes too!
I recently won Urban Pizza CO's Instagram competition to win £40 to spend at their Kommune branch, so we went along last week and what an absolute treat.
The staff were so lovely, they explained the menu to us and were really friendly and helpful.
As I am someone that wants to try a bit of everything, we definitely over-ordered because I not only wanted to try their amazing looking pizzas but also their new offering of pasta too (menu currently only available when at Kommune). The intention was to take leftovers home, but of course we ate every bit as it was so moreish and delicious!
We enjoyed;
Nduja Special pizza; a gorgeous bit of spice and a hint of honey giving it a sweet edge. The toasted seeds were a nice touch too.
Burrata Boscailoa pizza; I've finally had a burrata pizza! It was very creamy and yummy, maybe slightly soggy toward the end not that it stopped us ha.
Spaghetti & Meatballs; the meatballs were HUGE! But everything was really fresh, tasty and all well presented.
We entered full food coma and then some desserts made their way to our table…
Torta Della Nonna; not usually one for a lemon dessert this was a lovely contrast to the rich food and was nice and tangy.
Choc-a-lot fudge brownie; obviously went down a treat with me! Crisp on the outside and melting in the middle it was very indulgent
We had a great meal here and would definitely recommend it as somewhere to enjoy pizza and pasta in Sheffield City Centre.
