NEW ITALIAN BAR & RESTAURANT IN SHEFFIELD. Back in December I was kindly invited to the open evening of Grappa and then a few weeks later returned to feast on some of the delightful menu at part of a @sheffield_foodie_socials event. This stunning venue offers an authentic Italian Bar Ristorante Café experience with a modern twist, the legendary Italian Liqueur Grappa itself being at the centre, as well as plenty of freshly made, traditional Italian cuisine too.
Recently opened Italian Bar, Ristorante & Café Grappa is based on Glossop Rd/end of West St, looks like it could be THE place to be. A classy Italian Restaurant upstairs, fancy Lounge Bar to sample some Italian Grappa, and downstairs bar come daytime Café, with live entertainment on weekends.
I was kindly invited to their launch evening event at the beginning of December where I got to check out their gorgeous, brand spanking new venue which looks fabulous, with a Prosecco on arrival and chance to try a little sample of their food too..🥂
🧄🫒🍕🍝 From the canapés we got to sample; bruschetta, garlic bread, arancini, meatballs & focaccia - the food seems to be good quality, fresh and delicious. The house red wine, Nero D'Avola Sicilia, is one of the nicest red wines I've drank too at only £4.50 for a small glass..
Although early days, Grappa seems like a great place for a fancy Italian meal and to start your night out with some lovely drinks at a good entertainment..
When we returned again, we gladly got to try a lot more of their fresh, tasty cuisine... We enjoyed;
- Cacio Pepe - finally my first time trying this dish & I found it utterly delicious. A staple, simple but divine Italian pasta meal including Pecorino Cream Cheese Sauce, Artichoke & Pepper - superb, I really enjoyed it
- Pistachio Martini - I mean what's not to love? Had to have more than one haha..
- Frito Misto Napoli - a mixture of mini arancino, potato croquette, cheese bites, mini calzone, frittatina do spaghetti & deep fried courgette flower with ricotta & provola - every element was tasty and great comfort food
- Garlic Bread with cheese - possibly the most garlicky thing I've ever eaten 😋
- N'duja Amatriciana - nice dish with a hint of spice and pasta perfectly al dente
- Pistachio Soufflé - oh my word what an end to a perfect meal, this is indulgent and mouthwatering!! def recommended 💚
We enjoyed our evening here and it was great to catch up with some other foodies. I think some others had some constructive feedback and areas to be improved for the new restaurant, but we are all very excited to see this restaurant develop as it has such potential to be THE place to be in town! We hope to return again soon and look forward to seeing their menu develop.
