For a long time I put off trying SimplyCook for the reason that we always have a cupboard full of herbs & spices and cook a lot of meals from scratch, coming up with our own recipes. HOWEVER, I was sent some recipe kits via Degustabox (see below), and was blown away by the flavours and the ease of using these well put-together recipes. I will definitely be ordering some more soon... Do you use SimpleCook? Which kits do you recommend? I have tried the Jerk Chicken (Favourite of the 2 so far) and Goan Curry both of which provided delicious evening meals.
Simply Cook - "For Simple Pleasures - 3 extraordinary pots of flavour deliver restaurant quality home cooking to your dinner table"
⭐️These little recipe kits are fabulous for quick, simple cooking from scratch and for meal inspiration when you run out of ideas.
⭐️Don't worry about buying lots of spices and jars of pastes etc, these kits include all of that. You just add the fresh ingredients you wish and potentially a tin of tomatoes/coconut milk etc depending on which kit you use.
JERK CHICKEN - Quick & Easy and all this for approx 587 calories per portion** All we needed for this meal alongside the recipe kit was chicken thighs, black beans, rice, half tin of coconut milk (we used the other half for the Goan Curry) and we had some baby corn which was a great addition.
π©π»π³We decided to marinade the chicken for a few hours before cooking and the flavour was banging!! The rice was slightly creamy in texture from cooking it in coconut milk which was lovely.
⭐️We were really impressed with the kits which are usually £3 for your first 4 recipes (or £10 for 4 recipe kits thereafter) + free postage. Brilliant!
GOAN CURRY - ** I decided to use some leftover pork steaks we had in the freezer, a bell pepper and as advised 2 large tomatoes, 1 onion and the leftover coconut milk from the recipe above.
π₯In hindsight I probably didn't need 2 large tomatoes π
1 would have been ok as it meant the curry was slightly more liquid than ideal, but the flavour was superb!!
I can't wait to try more of these from SimplyCook.com (check them out yourselves!). Please note that I reviewed these products honestly and off my own back, this was not a paid partnership.
