I first started following Scott's recipes from his Instagram and website Food for Fitness, then when his first book "The Ultimate High Protein Handbook" came out in April 2023 we had to give it a try! For anyone that is calorie conscious but still wants to eat tasty, appetising meals, this is a great recipe book for you. Scott provides healthy meal ideas, quick and easy family-friendly recipes for weight loss with all the nutrition information included. We have enjoyed lots of lovely recipes from this book, here's just a few we've tried so far...
Beef Kheema - Approx 286 calories per serving. A lovely dish that you'd enjoy if you like curry spices, bolognese and chilli - a big one-pot of comfort. As well as being low calorie and a very warming dish, it's really easy to make.
Smokey Beef & Bacon Chilli - Approx 360 calories per serving. I LOVE a good old chilli, and using up some leftover smoked bacon is always a good shout in a meal like this. This one is a good recipe for the slow cooker, taking approx 6 hours on low, bringing out all of the flavours and spices that make a rich, delicious chilli.
Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta - Approx 555 calories per serving. Packed full of yummy ingredients and lot of veg, this is such a great, quick pasta meal to make that I would like any day of the week. Chuck in any other leftover veg you might have in the fridge, I guarantee it'll go down well.
Chinese Chicken Takeaway Curry - Approx 325 calories per serving. This is the closest to a Chinese curry takeaway I have ever tasted, and without the guilt. So good, and healthy too. I recommend this to any chinese takeaway lovers!
BBQ Meatloaf - Approx 281 calories per serving. I had never had meatloaf before, I always thought they didn't sound very nice, but this is actually REALLY good, and very tasty. There's a little bit of prep work but we felt it was still really easy to make and we would definitely try it again.
Spicy Korean Bulgogi Pork - Approx 349 calories per serving. I'm a fan of a spicy stir fry and this is a good one. There aren't many ingredients needed for this one either, which is always a winner for people that are just starting out to cook from scratch - a really good dish to give a go.
There are so many other great looking recipes in this cookbook covering salads, soups, snacks, burgers, curries - we think it's a really good mixture of healthy but delicious meals for the calorie & protein conscious eaters. Find a link to Scott's Instagram Page here, that has a link to his cookbook in his bio.
Please note I have reviewed this cookbook off my own back, this is not a paid partnership in any way.
