I was kindly gifted a beautiful Bodegas Manzanos, Finca Manzanos Reserva, Rioja, Spain, 2018. This red wine is bright and ruby-coloured and is an intense, but pleasant wine. Perfect with barbecued meat and/or smoked cheese, this is a delightful glass of happiness to enjoy at home. Grapes are all hand-picked in early October. A long maceration of 28 days at a controlled temperature and 24 months ageing in American and French oak casks, half and half, followed by a further twelve months rounding off in the bottle.
Since then I have signed up to their monthly subscription of 3 mixed (white & red) wines per month (subscriptions starting from £34.95 per month but don't forget that discount code!). This was very easy to set up and is easy to cancel at any time, but don't miss out on these quality wines. Each monthly box not only includes wine but also a snack that pairs well with the drinks, and a monthly magazine providing more information on Savage Vines, the winemakers they support, tasting notes, recipe pairing suggestions and much more including QR codes to download songs and also enter competitions to win freebies. How fun!
More info on Savage Vines
Organic & Bio-dynamic Wines; Savage Vines import a great range of organic and bio-dynamic wines. Wine that truly reflect the natural elements of wine-making, as well as expressing more natural aromas and flavours. No chemicals which are harmful to the environment – just good clean wine! Biodynamic wine is made with a set of farming practices that views the farm or vineyard as one solid organism. The ecosystem functions as a whole, with each portion of the farm or vineyard contributing to the next. The idea is to create a self-sustaining system. Natural materials, soils, and composts are used to sustain the vineyard.
Family-Operated Vineyards; People want to know where the products they are buying come from. As Savage Vines looks to import from family-operated vineyards, you'll get the chance to learn something about the people putting grapes into your glass.
Commitment to Sustainability; As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability we will be planting a tree for every order you make on our site. Keep your glass full and keep our planet green.
Membership discounts; All subscribers and wine club members receive a 25% discount off all single bottles of wine and 15% off all mixed cases via the online store.
