A couple of Sundays ago we went for a drizzly walk around Worsbrough (South Barnsley) and booked a table at a pub in Birdwell, The Traveller's Inn, to enjoy a Sunday Roast afterwards..
We enjoyed;
- Sunday Roast - Beef (£16.50) + Chicken (£15.95); both served with mash, Yorkshire pud, duck fat roasties, honey-roasted carrots & parsnips, cabbage, stuffing and gravy (GF gravy available) - these were served on massive plates so it looked like there wasn't much, but there was definitely ample amounts. Everything was cooked to our liking and no complaints. We were definitely full afterwards. NOTE - other meals coming out of the kitchen looked like MASSIVE portions including Kids meals, something to bear in mind.
- Bakewell Tart with Custard (£7.50); a massive portion and lots of creamy custard. Really enjoyed this 🍰
We pre-booked a table but there's lots of room to dine here, so I think walk ins would be fine. We enjoyed the food and drinks and the staff were friendly and welcoming. In total we spent £54 for 2 Sunday roasts, a dessert & 3 pints.
The Pub has a large menu including Lunch and an Outdoor Menu. There is limited options for Vegans, but more choice for Vegetarians. They also offer a Bottomless Brunch Monday to Saturday 12pm - 5pm, 2 hours for £34.95 AND they offer a free meal on your Birthday here as well.
Opening times: Mon & Tues 3pm - 8pm, Wed to Sun 12pm - 11pm. Find out more about The Traveller's Inn, Birdwell here.
