| Genshin Impact: Overflowing Mastery event guide Posted: 01 Jun 2021 07:15 AM PDT There’s a new event in Genshin Impact that should help players amass more materials to level up talents. The Overflowing Mastery event grants a 2x bonus for two Abyssal Domains: Forsaken Rift and Taishan Mansion, but only if you use original resin to claim your rewards. You should be able to do this thrice each day until the counter resets. In any case, here’s our guide to help you with the Overflowing Mastery event in Genshin Impact. Note: For more information about the game, check out our Genshin Impact guides and features hub. You may also check our version 1.5 overview to learn about all the new activities and content. | Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX preview — The past is brutal Posted: 01 Jun 2021 06:00 AM PDT I’m more than happy to admit that my feelings for Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX are mixed. The original game passed me by in my youth. Alex Kidd came out on Sega’s Master System, back when my attention was split between an Atari 2600 and the NES. A remake, Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is absolutely geared toward fans of the 1986 action platformer. It’s a snapshot of old-school gaming with limited lives, linear levels, and lots of death. However, the game came from a time in which developers would ape popular formulas, but also try and be more creative with their ideas. As I played through Alex Kidd for the first time in my life, I was struck by the ’80s-game nostalgia — along with ’80s-game frustration. And, honestly, some justified bewilderment. Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is what one would call a labor of love. What began as two Alex Kidd fans recreating their favorite game, the project eventually got the attention and blessing from Sega. | Riot extends time limit to claim a free Valorant Duality Player Card Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:30 AM PDT Riot Games recently dropped a new lore cinematic that gave players a taste of what's really going down in the world of Valorant. The cinematic is titled Duality and, along with the trailer, Riot also released a free Player Card for Valorant players to claim. Originally, the card was only going to be available for 48 hours from the release of the Duality trailer. However, due to technical issues, this time limit has been removed for now. Gamers love digital swag to add some flair to their characters and accounts. And free in-game cosmetics always go down particularly well. The free Valorant Duality Player Card has gone down a bit too well. The website you need to visit to input the code and redeem the card has been crashing because of the high volume of traffic. While this may have been frustrating for players trying to grab the Player Card right after the new trailer was released, those who missed the announcement now still have a chance to claim the cosmetic. We know a lot ... |
| Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection — Is it worth it? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:00 AM PDT Ghosts ‘n Goblins was always one of those daunting, yet consistently enjoyable games. As time went on, however, the series stopped getting new entries. That changed this year with the release of Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, which is coming to Steam tomorrow. Despite what the title might imply, this is not a remaster or a remake, but an all-new game in the series that brings some surprising updates to the formula, while still staying true to the classics. It’s a ridiculously tough time to be sure, and the series isn’t for everybody. So the question stands: is it worth it? The story in Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection doesn’t pull any punches. Arthur is hanging out on a hill with a princess when she suddenly gets kidnapped. He goes off to die repeatedly. I mean, save her. Mostly the first one though. The game is very much like previous entries. You walk to the right while doing your best to survive a relentless onslaught of death and destruction. Y... |
