Posted: 01 Jul 2021 05:00 AM PDT

Microsoft Flight Simulator A320 World Travel Spain Descent 2We’ve known for the last few weeks that a big new performance update is on the way for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Now, the first members of the public are getting a chance to experience it by means of Asobo’s recently launched PerformancePLUS Flighting Opportunity.  “Flighting opportunity” is the team’s fancy term for beta tests. The latest one has 500 slots, and registrations recently went live. For this test, Asobo is calling for simmers with a range of different hardware setups, peripherals, and experience. The goal of this test is to “target areas of the sim in performance, stability, compatibility with hardware and devices, and aircraft.” All of this is in preparation for the official Sim Update 5 which will roll out on July 27, right alongside the release of the Xbox Series X|S version of Microsoft Flight Simulator.   Asobo has managed to get those consoles to run the hardware-intensive sim in 4K at 30fps on the Series X, and 108...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare playlist update adds Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage back in

Posted: 30 Jun 2021 04:30 PM PDT

Modern Warfare playlist updateCall of Duty: Modern Warfare fans can finally, officially enjoy the latest two maps that have joined the game. Both Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage are now available to play in their respective playlists. This content comes nearly two years after the game’s launch, but those who are still playing Activision’s big 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare series surely won’t complain about this substantial playlist update. If you recall back to March, there was a small fiasco involving some new maps appearing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare without much in the way of grand introductions. Both Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage popped up as new maps for players to try in custom games, but the developer failed to provide any announcement or explanation as to why the maps appeared. Shortly after, the maps were also pulled from the game without explanation.   For whatever reason, it took the developer weeks to officially address the issue on Twitter. Infinity Ward declared the whol...

Doki Doki Literature Club Plus — Is it worth it?

Posted: 30 Jun 2021 04:05 PM PDT

Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!Way back in 2017, Dan Salvato unleashed Doki Doki Literature Club onto the world. What appeared as just another trope-filled, cliché-ridden visual novel clogging up Steam actually turned out to be something much different. The game is one of the best horror games ever made; a truly psychologically disturbing experience. With it being free on Steam and able to run on even the most low-spec computer, the game saw huge success. Earlier this year at E3, an updated version of the game was announced, with Plus! tacked on. And this brings us to this article’s titular question: is Doki Doki Literature Club Plus worth it? Before I get into why, I will start off by answering that question immediately with an unequivocal yes. The main game is unchanged outside of new HD illustrations that all look very crisp. Doki Doki Plus features all-new sprites and backgrounds, as well as new and remixed music throughout. There’s even a music player in the main menu.   The biggest new addi...

Genshin Impact: Kazuha’s elemental mastery and Serenitea Pot teleportation addressed by miHoYo

Genshin Impact Kazuha Elemental Mastery Serenitea Pot Teleportation FarmingWith Genshin Impact rolling along the road to Inazuma, miHoYo addressed a few controversies and issues. Chief among these was related to a passive talent for Kazuha, the newest character to join the roster (you can learn more about him in our character build guide). For reference, the original wording of the “Poetics of Fuubutsu” passive made players think that Kazuha could buff every other character with their own element (i.e., a “rainbow buff” of sorts). Unfortunately, that was a mistranslation, and miHoYo has since corrected that mistake much to everyone’s chagrin. That’s led to some concerns regarding Kazuha’s elemental mastery in Genshin Impact. The developers also went a bit further in a recent blog post. Explaining why Kazuha’s and Sucrose’s elemental mastery quirks don’t gel well together, the studio cited that this was in order to “avoid [the] infinite stacking of in-game bonuses.”   Genshin Impac...
