| Giants Uprising will stomp its way into Early Access this fall Posted: 31 Aug 2021 02:40 AM PDT During gamescom 2019, developer VARSAV Game Studios unveiled one of its upcoming projects in the form of Giants Uprising, an action game that sees players controlling a destructive giant. This year’s gamescom event saw VARSAV Game Studios return with more information on the game, including a new trailer that shows extensive footage of the title’s cutscenes. Along with this information, VARSAV Game Studios revealed that Giants Uprising will make its way to Early Access on November 2, which should excite players who are anticipating its release. To coincide with the Early Access launch, the developer will provide a Limited Early Access Edition of the game to those interested. | We’ll get an early look at Dead Space remake via a livestream tomorrow Posted: 30 Aug 2021 05:30 PM PDT It was a bit of a shock when Dead Space, the beloved IP that EA left to die after the lukewarm response to the game’s action-oriented, co-op third entry, was revealed to be getting a remake. Work on the title is still early on, so I wasn’t expecting to hear much for quite some time. But the surprises don’t stop coming, as we’ll be getting a closer look at the game tomorrow with a special developer livestream. I hope you’re ready for Necromorphs to once again haunt your very dreams, because I know I am. If you want to check out the livestream for Dead Space, it’ll start up at 1 PM EST on Motive Studio’s Twitch page. There isn’t any info on what exactly we’ll see during the livestream. But the tweet announcing it only says that it will be a “very early look” at development, so there’s clearly still quite a ways to go. Motive Studio was founded within EA in 2015 and subsequently assisted with the development of Sta... |
| Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi in talks to leave Sega for NetEase Posted: 30 Aug 2021 03:30 PM PDT Sega is easily one of the most volatile companies in the gaming industry. Once upon a time, they were an absolute juggernaut, even dethroning Nintendo at one point in the ’90s. Nowadays the company doesn’t publish hardware anymore, and outside of Sonic the Hedgehog and Yakuza, not much software either. According to a report from Bloomberg published earlier today, the creator of Yakuza, Toshihiro Nagoshi might be headed towards greener pastures at NetEase. In case you don’t know, NetEase is right up there with Tencent for companies racing towards the ultimate goal of the OCP/Weyland Yutani “we own everything” of the future. Both Chinese companies have their fingers in many pies, especially the gaming industry. Getting Nagoshi for NetEase would be that company’s biggest venture into the Japanese market. Naturally neither NetEase nor Sega has commented on or confirmed anything, but that’s expected. NetEase, like Tencent, is looking to ex... |
| Horror action RPG Dolmen gets new gameplay trailer Posted: 30 Aug 2021 01:45 PM PDT gamescom 2021 brought plenty of announcements for people who love scares, like the upcoming The Outlast Trials and Madison. But one of the more intriguing options seen at the gaming event was the horror action RPG Dolmen, which takes place entirely in space. Developer Massive Work Studio released a new gameplay trailer for Dolmen, as well as a story trailer, so there’s plenty to dive into. In Dolmen, you’re cast into an alien world known as Revion Prime. You have one job: to bring back crystals known as “Dolmen,” which are able to facilitate interaction between realities and further space exploration. However, the places where Dolmen lay also contain horrifying sci-fi creatures that you must defeat in order to advance. The game mixes futuristic sci-fi with horror elements, so you know these creatures will frighten you. A mysterious planet The game features a rich combat system where you grow stronger after each battle. You have a choice between melee o... |
