MJ's Diner – Air Fryer Ready Meals

The Air Fryer craze is still going strong yet I have to admit I was reluctant to buy and use one for a long time because we have a perfectly functioning oven, so I didn't really see the point. However I gave in at the end of last year and the more I use it, the more I realise how fabulously convenient, easy-to-use and more efficient it is.... and now I want a bigger one haha! The compact appliance helps save time and energy in cooking, and over time will save on household bills too. Not to mention there is just about ANYTHING you can cook using them.

So what is more convenient than using an Air Fryer?!... How about having a range of family-friendly, value for money and fairly nutritious made ready-meals, specifically developed for the Air Fryer?! MJ's Diner and it's owner Noel, has released just that; a first-to-market range of ready-meals that are currently available in Farmfoods, Poundland, SPAR, Noel's own Oops Food Clearance in St Helens, and over 300 independent retailers nationwide. [AD|GIFTED]

This fantastic range is priced between £1.99 - £2.49 a pack and are between 530 - 900 calories per portion and all can be cooked under 30 minutes. The packs are perfect for busy individuals and small families, that still want to enjoy a filling and yummy, simple meal. In my opinion each pack is either a filling dinner/breakfast for one, or can be split to make 2 child-size portions or add extra ingredients to make 2 adult meals.

There are MANY meals to choose from such as; Chicken Nuggets and Fries (Made with 100% Breast), Mixed Starter: 2 Potato Skins, 6 Garlic Mushrooms & 4 Hot & Spicy wings, All Day Breakfast, Katsu Chicken & Crinkle Cut Chips, Shortcrust Steak Pie and Steak Cut Chips, Breaded Fish Fingers with Chips, Kebab Meat and Chips with Sriracha Sauce, Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs and Crinkle Cut Chips, Pork Sausage in Gravy and Chips and much, much more!

We were kindly gifted a number of these packs to try, and so far have been impressed. The only comment I will make is just keep an eye on the cooking times advised, as I found with my air fryer some ingredients were almost overdone, but that's easily maintained the more you get used to them. See in more detail what we have tried below;

  • Chips with Chip Shop Curry Sauce - We shared this pack between two of us and added bread and lamb koftas to make some mammoth chip butties. This was really easy to cook and was ultimate comfort food on a Friday evening! The sauce comes in its own packaging inside the pouch, and is very easy to warm up.
  • All Day Breakfast - 2 Sausage, 2 Hash Browns, 2 Gammon Grill / Steak, 2 Black Pudding - I have to say we THOROUGHLY enjoyed this, it's been my favourite meal so far form the range. All of the ingredients were tasty and everything came out of the air fryer crispy but soft in the middle. This is a great belly filler brekky for one person, or add beans, eggs and toast like us and its very satisfying for two. The easiest full English breakfast I've ever made.
  • Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs and Crinkle Cut Chips - initially it looked like there wasn't much meat on these ribs, but I soon found out there was enough. I added some garnish to the chips such as chillies, spring onions, pickles and spicy mayo - this was a proper indulgent meal for one on a weeknight and I really enjoyed it.
  • Kebab Meat and Chips with Sriracha Sauce - my Mum tried this one and she said it was lovely. There was plenty of meat and chips, and she mixed the sriracha sauce with mayo to make it less spicy for her which was ideal.

We're excited to use more of these packs when we are tight on cooking time or meal inspiration, and will definitely be picking these up from a local shop in the future. Each pack has easy-to-follow instructions on the back and a full nutritional and ingredients guide. Each meal is conveniently packed into a sealed foil bag that can fit easily into your freezer as opposed to large boxed meals.

Noel the owner is already in talks with the likes of Home Bargains, Morrisons, and Sainsbury's to supply the air fryer-ready meals... so watch this space! His team are ready to produce 350,000 meals per week and feel the new range is perfect for students, busy individuals, and families on the go.

Have you seen these meal packs before? Have you tried them? If not, which are you excited to try? Leave a comment below and let me know 🙂
