Wortley Wagyu est. 2020, is a small, family-run business dedicated to producing the highest quality beef possible. Wagyu is the most luxurious beef in the world, renowned for its luscious, mouth-watering flavour. Their Japanese Black Cattle (you can see them graze across the field from the burger bar!) are slow grown and grass-fed to maturity to produce the best quality and taste possible. The farm is situated in Wortley in the beautiful South Yorkshire countryside and includes a farm shop, Wagyu Burger Co Bar which also serves alcohol, and there are large indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Who walks 6 miles to get a burger? We do haha. And why wouldn't you when it's a quality, locally produced Wagyu beef burger such as these?! A few weeks ago we visited Wortley Wagyu for the first time which we planned 6 mile into our 10.5 mile walk (was originally going to be 8 miles, oops haha). It was 100% worth the visit.
We feasted on;
- Spicy Wagyu Burger: Wortley Wagyu 6oz burger topped with cheddar cheese, pepperoni, jalapenos chilli & nduja
- BBQ Pulled Beef Burger: BBQ Wagyu beef & cheddar cheese
- Katsu Loaded Fries with fried Wagyu beef
- 2 Pints of Asahi
All of the above came to £45. A pricey lunch but a sought out treat that was great quality, we didn't leave a crumb. So is it worth the visit??? That's for you decide and for me to tell you a bit about it to help you decide.
Personally it was worth the visit for us... The food was delicious, presentation on point, a little messy but not messy enough to spoil it. A great, filling lunch sat in the sunshine, mid-walk in the lovely Yorkshire countryside 👌🏼
Opening Times; Bank Holiday Mon 9am - 4pm, Tues: CLOSED, Wed - Fri 11am - 8pm, Sat 10am - 8pm and Sun 10am - 6pm.
